A must-have for quilters
This ruler was recommended to me by a quilting teacher. I love it! I am making a log cabin quilt and the ruler allows me to cut strips in just a fraction of the time that it used to take. It is a real time saver. It's very simple and easy to use...and the price at Amazon was half the price of the retail stores in my area. The fabric is doubled and layered under the ruler (I cut 4 layers at a time)..so that it is possible to cut a 48 inch strip with just one swipe of the rotary cutter. I have not tried it for making squares, triangles, diamonds, etc. but expect that it will be great for that too. I would recommend this ruler to anyone who is a serious quilter or to someone just getting started....it takes the chore out of cutting yards and yards of strips.

Good but where do we draw the line
I love this product have used it for years for my business. This would be a five star review but the price is getting a bit out of control for a piece of plastic. Unfortunately this is the only company who makes these.

Works well
Worked well. Don't know how it will hold up in the long term as the plastic chips easily if you are not very careful when you cut. It does make it quick and easy to cut squares and strips.

Worth every penny, and then some!
This ruler is absolutely invaluable for cutting many strips/squares all at once without having to lift it every time, thus eliminating the possibility of accidentally moving your fabric and having it mis-aligned. I have cut an entire yard worth of perfect 2 1/2" strips in minutes, and it was so fast and easy that I no longer dread the cutting part of quilt-making since there is no re-positioning and re-measuring and re-checking, etc. every time you make a cut. I have made 5" squares as well using this wonderful tool and they were all uniform and perfect! Once you use this ruler, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it!

Didn't work for double layers fleece--until I found the right rotary cutter
It's a great concept, but when I attempted two layers of fleece for one inch by five inch fringes (a no sew double layer fleece fringed blanket)--it didn't perform. None of my cuts were clean, and I took care to use sharp new blades. When I used my conventional quilting grid and edge: all cuts were clean. I think the slots prevented my blades from biting both layers. Unfortunate, as I have a 60 by 72 inch rectangle to fringe. That's going to be a lot of cuts with a conventional ruler. . .oh well, my bad. Two days later: updating my review. I thought, why not a larger diameter rotary cutter--is there one? ( I was using my usual 45 mm cutter. Don't laugh, experienced quilters. I didn't know). Well, there are 60 mm rotary cutters, and I now have one, and that has solved the problem of double fleece layers and slotted ruler. I still have to apply some muscle on the cut, and pull it both ways through the slot, but I am getting consistent cuts with very few moves of the ruler. And could slice pizza on the side. Five stars for the ruler. I recommend a 60 mm rotary cutter to use with it.

Really makes stripping easy
I've just started stripping, and wanted to find a faster and easier way. This really answered my needs. It's easy to make different size strips, that all come out even, without having to constantly shift and remeasure the ruler and/or fabric. I was afraid it looked too good to be true, but it really works great. With a good rotary cutter, you can fold your fabric again, and cut strips across the width in no time flat. (I use strips for making fabric baskets)
