Medium fits 38S, 5' 7" male. Expect this to be an outer shell if you are wearing under wintery conditions.
I like the jacket. I purchased this for the Boston winter and last weekend I spent 2 hours outside in 4 degree weather! Now, let me clarify. This is NOT A WARM winter jacket. I purchased this with the intention of layering. I've found that while shoveling snow and operating my snow blower, it can get too hot under a proper winter jacket/coat. This jacket allows me to wear the layers I need beneath to keep warm and remove them if I get too hot. This jacket also provides a good outer shell and offers great protection around the head. The hood is great and I like the adjustable wires... I hope they don't break.4 degree weather. I decided take this jacket for a spin when we accompanied my sister-in-law with her two kids to go snow tubing (let's not discuss why that was or wasn't a good idea last weekend). At that temperature, the snow fell right off. The sleeve cuffs kept the snow out. I still felt the cold, though that's not exactly through any fault of the jacket. This fits as expected. Actually, I think it fits me perfectly. I usually wear medium in U.S. sizes. Sometimes with coats or jackets, I'll go small. However, knowing that this is a Chinese made jacket and with past experiences with Chinese sizing since they sell a lot on the Amazon platform, I decided to go with Medium. Length works for me. No "pot belly" as someone else indicated.I'm 5' 7", 162 lbs. Jacket size 38S. Waist size 31. Pretty average/medium build, not slim.I do agree that the jacket itself is probably worth paying about $40 for.

Very nice. Look at second photo for In-Depth thoughts.
I am an Asian, 5 feet, 3 inches, 130 pounds wearing a size small with a bit of a dad body. (12/29/18)Thoughts: I thought the jacket was going to be like the example photos, but when I wore it, it was like an M51/65 style. For me, it is a perfect fit on the body, not tight, but I did roll up my sleeves because they reached to my fingers and it is my personal style. The material is a bit stiff and rough, but I think that gives it pretty good durability. I live in Southern California, USA, and this jacket is perfect for windy and cold days, you could wear something underneath such as a fleece to be more warm and have less...Roughness due to the material, however, it is not strong enough to make eczema worse, as I have eczema on the crease of my elbow, and it has done nothing to worsen it. It is windproof since it is windy in SoCal at this moment. I'll be back to edit how good it is in the rain since it's in the forecast a week from now. It is most likely water resistant. There are no inside pockets. It is comfortable in my opinion. No problems as of yet and I love this jacket.In-Depth Thoughts:Yellow: The hoodie has a bar that keeps its form, thus the perfect circle in the picture, but it definitely helps when worn, and it has a bill like a hat for increased protection from rain. I had trouble trying to make it look nice while not using it. The more you zip the jacket, the more higher the fold will be around your neck.Orange: The patch loops may look and feel small, but they work perfectly, not too tight, not to loose. The pockets are nice and oddly deep, I removed the cloth that extends the zipper to conceal those pockets more.Purple: That little thing right there is like a handle. I have no clue what it's for other than someone to grab. Nice style, but a con, especially for something like Jiu Jitsu.Green: That area is where it has the waist adjuster. Tight it too much and it will create a weird fold and look ugly.Black: Rolled up sleeves due to combination of it being long and personal style. That should be three folds, any more, the netting will appear.Red: I wasn't aware, but you can easily put your hands there, it is also windproof inside of it.Blue: The waist zipper and magnets are wonderful. You can unzip them and easily access your pant pockets and the magnet will close the exposed area, and the magnets are light enough to close the 'flap'.Purple, Green, Yellow, and middle bottom on top of zipper: There are 4 velcro hook and loops, and they fit perfectly when you don't want to zip your jacket up, they fit on top of each other perfectly and you can easily open and close your jacket without a zipper.EDIT: (I will put something here in terms of water resistance, durability, etc. in a few weeks, months, maybe year.)

LOTS OF LOOSE STRING but overall worth it.
So far this jacket is great! it came with a slightly odd smell but after wearing it around a bit the smell has worn off. The jacket has a slightly awkward fit to my body 5"8 170 lbs. The pockets on the arms feel weird but once you wear it a few times it will fit your body. I ordered the black python patterned one and it looks pretty much the same as the picture. In terms of loose strings, there are a few you will need to cut off but nothing to get worked up over. Some gripes I have with the jacket is how the velcro make you look like you have a potbelly. It sticks out a fair bit but again nothing too major. I have yet to see how "windproof" this jacket is and how warm it is. Wearing it around the house I can already tell that this is NOT going to keep you warm in really cold weather. This is a fall jacket at best but I knew that before buying. Some people claim the jacket runs small and I can attest to this. I wear large in pretty much everything and this jacket has the arm length of a large but the torso and length of a medium. Getting extra large would have probably been too long but might have fit better. Overall this jacket is a good buy but not worth the 60$ you pay for it. I would price it around 40$-50$ just because of the number of loose strings. I hope this jacket holds up because it has easily become one of my favorite jackets to wear.

WOW
This coat is really worth its money for the price. I was expecting exposed stitching and cheap nylon. I was wrong on this. I don't know the exact denier on this coat but it seems high up there. I had pieces of firewood rub up against this with no harm many times. I was expecting some sort of snag on the fabric or a hole. However, I do question its breath-ability since I often use this jacket in physical activities such as biking in example. It almost feels like my upper body is in a sauna. Water resistance is up there however water will start seeping into the jacket in minutes walking in the rain .

Great fit and material
This jacket fit perfect for me. I normally wear L or sometimes M. I got the L and it's a little loose how I like it, and it sinches nicely horizontally in the center. If you're a fit person it will make you look great. There are several great pockets i counted 10. The material is durable fabric often used on tactical pants like 5.11 Buttons and zippers are nicely concealed. The main zipper is durable. I'm thinking of getting another one.
