Eva Schloss
I have read a few books of those who have survived Auschwitz. This would be one of my favorites. Surviving the horror and putting her life back together. Helping others to find meaning and purpose to life.

Very In-depth
I have read many books about the Holocaust over the years, but Eva's story really made me feel what she went through at Auschwitz. The agony of being arrested for nothing more than her religion, she tells of she and her family being arrested by the SS on her 15th birthday and the horrors of being separated from her father and brother. Reading how she and her mom barely survived the horrors of one of the biggest death camps run by the Nazis. Literally being worked almost to death, having very little food to sustain them, wondering when it would be their turn to go to the gas chambers. Her brief encounters with Anne and Margot Frank, whom she had known before the nightmare made it even more alive and horrible. Then learning how she and her mother learned to live again once they were rescued from their living hell. I did enjoy reading how her mother's life got better after she was reacquainted with Otto Frank and eventually married him, making Eva the step sister of Anne Frank long after Anne died. Each part of Eva's life was very interesting, especially learning how she slowly managed to move on with her life after the war. How she met and married Sci Schools, and raised their 3 girls. And how she became involved in the Anne Frank House and other stories and plays about Anne and life in the camps. This was definitely a book that was hard to put down.thank you Eva, for bringing this part of history to life so we who came later might be better able to get an idea of what you and millions of others went through.

Excellent - a must read
I had read and was very moved by Mrs. Schloss' first work. Remarkably, "After Auschwitz" was even better. People don't just "get over it" because they luckily survived. As Mrs. Schloss so honestly accounts, these experiences have to be examined and in some strange way accepted. Even atrocities. She is an astounding and strong woman. I am not greater reader of tragedies ---I read to relax. Even so, this book is uplifting because at its very essence it's a story of succeeding as a survivor in embracing life. No easy feat.

Haunting story
Reading this during the 2020 pandemic is frightening as the cruelties of Hitler’s dictatorship unfolded and killed/ruined the lives of millions of Jews! It parallels too many things currently going on in the US “democracy” - but will the US continue to be a democracy?

Excellent Read
I appreciate hearing about life before the concentration camp, but even more than that, half the book is about life after the war. I was so captivated that I searched for the play, and am sure I appreciated the message in it as well. We need to preserve stories like Anne Frank and Eva Schloss so we don't repeat history.

Amazing Read
This book was beyond amazing. I loved how it took us to life prior to the holocaust, then to the experience of hiding ,to the concentration camp experience, to adapting post holocaust. Bringing forth similarities of events that are or have occurred globally allowed for a greater understanding of the hate that can consume all of us, but yet the author taught us to love even though the world can be cruel....once again amazing book!

Loved this book
Loved this book. I loved having Eva’s perspective of everything-it was so personal. There really is something special, more personal than other memoirs I’ve read about the holocaust. This is not just Anne Frank’s step sister’s story, this is a whole unique person who’s mother married Frank’s Mother after the war. If you are looking for something more on Frank this is not it. If you are looking for something raw and emotional about survival then this certainly is it. Happy reading.

A heartbreaking heart-wrenching book
Like the title says a story of heartbreak I cannot imagine the pain the suffering The terror that people went through and how they could have survived all this horror but it's an excellent book that tells you the real history by one who went through it

Good read
This is a very nice book for those who are looking for first-hand accounts of WWII. Also if you are a fan of Anne Frank and you have always wondered what has become of Otto Frank, you will find an overview of his life posterior to war. It is very interesting as Eva even gives account of him on the train back home from Auschwitz.

After Auschwitz: A story of heartbreak and survival
Te abre los ojos a una realidad que vivieron muchas familias durante el holocausto. Leer esta historia personal ayuda a entender lo importante que es no olvidar el pasado y aprender de él para no repetirlo.

Life after Auschwitz
This is also a good book, although there are some duplication from the Eva's Story. Since I read the Eva's Story I've been curious what happened after survival. This book attitude to describe what she experienced iame what happened and how she lived afterwards.I like the author's honest, sincere attitude to describe what she experienced in awhay young people can easily understand. Above all, I love her sense of humor.
