Wiley's Beans and Peas Seasonings -6 (SIX) Packets

If you going to make yourself a pot of beans ,Navy beans or Great Northern beans ,you got to have some wileys beans and peas seasoning, also if you like get you some of that goya's ham seasoning packages three little packages add that to the Wiley's beans and peas seasoning package, you can get a fatback ,cut it up put a chunk in there or you can get a hogjawl,chunk it up put a chunk in there put it in the instant pot 40 minutes soak your beans overnight rinse your beans off, you can also add some chicken stock to the water, don't forget about that cornbread you better double the box, and then a couple hours later you'd be like Larry the Cable Guy fraudulent. You might be told to get outside if you're going to do that again please. Let em ,rip !

I used it with one pound of chick peas -- not the best choice; but I wanted to test the seasoning, and I had a ton of chick peas my friend gave me to use up -- in my Instant Pot. I used half a packer for a pound of chick peas but when they were done, I sectioned off three quarters of a pound and added the rest. What I got from this is maybe next time, I'll just wait until they're cooked and throw in half a packet, possibly adjust to taste. But back to point -- The seasoning is spot on, really tastes like you used ham. Definitely going to experiment with different beans.

I would give it a five except for the lack of salt, which most people should cut down on. Otherwise, it is good for when I cook beans, peas, or soup. The cost of meat is so high now and I depend on the flavor of my dishes for contentment. The cornbread I make from scratch complements the dishes I make using this seasoning so I'll keep purchasing it.

Smoked meat is expensive. Stopped using it in my greens and my beans. It's hard to find in the grocery stores because everybody snaps them up. I think Wiley's is great. I see that he has a bar-b-q seasoning out too.
