Lightning Sparring Headgear - Blue - X-Large

We bought 2 of this - one XL for me and one large for a young teenager. The vendor shipped the helmet quickly and we both were very happy with the what we got. The helmet does not obstruct my vision and yet have seems to offer good protection. My first sparring tournament with this helmet was a decisive win with a blackbelt 2 dan above me... sounds like I got a winner for me :-). In any case, make sure get a size bigger than what the manufacturer indicated on the size charge... I followed that advice from other reviewers and it was truly good advice.

Is an okay product; it would make the job done for the price. The one I ordered ripped in the front inner forehead after a few weeks but it may happened for been folding it alot

Use for occasional sparring with the buddy and makes a big difference towards reducing cranial jarring from those nasty left hooks. Probably not good enough to REALLY protect you with full contact sparring but with 16 oz gloves and going at half power or so should keep the concussions away. Chin strap is a chuckle-worthy joke but the helmet fits snugly and has the padding in the correct places, useful for keeping your ears intact. Sometimes must be readjusted on your head after it gets hit out of place, but perhaps all helmets are like this at this price range?

After reading other reviews, I ordered an x-large and it is too big. It covers his eyes unless he wears it backward . I wanted to compare it to the macho dyno head gear I also bought.

Great helmet. Extra padding where you need it the most. Velcro lasts about 2 years which is good. My son outgrew the first one and this is the second. Will buy again.

Excelente producto

I ordered the XL for my almost 10 year old son. His head circumference measured 22", but I sized up. Since the rest of his head is not as big as the top, the cheeks and chin are pretty much covered by the helmet. Given that this kid is growing rapidly, the XL was the right choice for us. We initially had the helmet on upside down, and it looked really goofy. It took us a while to figure out that this was user error.

My uncle has had a lot of medical problems since he was young, and wasn't expected to live long after he was born, yet 30 years later he's still with us. And this helmet is great for when he's walking around the house and bumps into anything, so we're not worried about him hurting himself.
