Simply push the top of the mill which is the button grinding salt or pepper perfectly and with zero effort. Each mill requires 6 x AAA batteries. Helpful acrylic viewing window to see when you need to re fill. Easy to open simply twist the top anti clock wise until it clicks then lift the top off and then gently wiggle and lift off the black body from the acrylic and steel base. Re fill and when re attaching the black body ensure that the two metal connectors on the black body go ontop of the two brass coloured connectors.
