Emtek Tubular Pocket Door (Round Privacy, Satin Brass (US4))

We put in the satin brass lock and round pull. Beautiful, well made.

nice item with a nice finish

I really love the look of this lock. I like that it's solid brass, is round and not your standard pocket door lock. My contractor installed it and it did not take him long to cut out the holes and insert both sides of the lock. The door also locks really well. My beef with this lock is that it is hard to pull on the lock to close the door. I wish there was more of a hook to pull on. There are small indents on either side of the 'male' part of the deadbolt-like lock, but it's very short and hard to get a grip on to pull the door closed. It is already installed and i don't have the skillset to replace it, so it will stay in, but I wish the pulling mechanism were easier.I've only had the lock installed for a day, so I will try to update this as a I get more use out of it.

If you’re trying out this lock before installing to make sure the mechanism works, note that it requires the strikeplate to function. When you close the lock, there’s a part that needs to push against the strikeplate before the little hooks extend to hold on to the strikeplate and prevent the door from opening.I initially thought my lock was broken until I noticed this.

It looks ok but It doesn’t have a good place to hang on to when you pull to shut the door. Would not buy it again.
