Help clarify Myocyte contraction (action potential and automaticity)
I'm a med student. I found that some the concepts in my CV class were presented in a confusing manner. I wanted these ideas broken down and presented in a memorable fashion. So I took a leap with this book and found it the be the solution to all my confusion. If you are struggling with the subject or just want to solidify the concepts of cardiac function, this is the book for you. It doesn't go into any detail about ventricles, atria, or valves. But it does carefully describes and explains myocyte action potentials, ion channels and ion movement, automaticity, and even how myosin and actin filament interact. If you understand what I am saying, then this book is for you.

I am a paramedic student and I wanted a more thorough understanding of the heart, so I have bought this book. Never would ever imagine myself being able to fully understand this, but I did. Always thought I was too dumb, but this book shows that nobody is ever too dumb to learn something just things may possibly be presented in a way that you don't understand. Thank you Dale Dubin!!! For breaking it down with plenty of pictures for the dummies! Looking go reward to reading more of your books for person and professional gains.

Wonderful illustrations
If you really want to understand and retain the ionic and physiologic interplay of the excitation - contraction mechanism of the heart - this book is absolutely worth your time and resources. You won't find a another book on the market that does such wonderful job breaking down complex processes into easy to understand illustrations.

Highly Recommend
Great teaching style. This is probably the best presentation of the material I have come across. Visually impressive.

Excellent Book
I am a professor of anatomy and physiology and after studying Dr. Dubin's book on EKGs I thought I would give this book a try. It is the best explanation of the molecular mechanisms of the cardiac conduction system, cardiac muscle contraction, and how these relate to the EKG that I have discovered. With recent discoveries it may not be 100% accurate but most of the mechanisms explained seem current.I would recommend this book to students and any healthcare practitioners with an interest in the subject.I would have given it a 5 star rating except for Dr. Dubins personal problems of the past. Yuck !!!!
