Difficult to install and not fit for purpose
Waste of money - difficult to install as the sticky strips don't stick to the straps. These then stick to the banister so rips paint off when adjusting the position (the whole point of getting this was so I didn't damage the banister). Advertised as universal but did not work on my banister so false advertising. Better off just drilling into the banister in my opinion and then fill and paint the holes once the gate is no longer needed.

Over complicated and ultimately useless
I was amazed at how complicated this was to put together, for what is basically a piece of wood that you strap to a post. Instructions are very poor, and the process of assembling and fitting it is extremely fiddly. Not only that, despite being advertised as a universal staircase adaptor, it will only safely fit a post of very specific measurements with a bannister at a certain height and it is not adjustable. In the ended up having to throw it away and drill into the post anyway. Total waste of time and money.

Easy to put together
A little expensive considering Argos used to sell the exact same one for £4 but seems to have been discontinued from their stores. However apart from the price I am very happy with this purchase, we needed a stair gate to stop our puppy going upstairs and due to the bannister design the gate wouldn’t sit properly, now it works just fine. Feels nice and sturdy and was very easy to follow the instructions!

Good quality gate - poor installation instructions
End product is fine but the installation instructions are dreadful, very complicated and diagrams poor.

Great piece of kit!! No screwing into my Staircase
Had to fit a stair gate onto my stairs however didn't want to screw into the wood. I didn't want a pressure gate due to the trip hazard so opted for the MultiDan gate. The Staircase Adapter kit cleverly straps to the Staircase Post with its really smart locking system. The wooden baton then gives a smooth surface in which to fix the gate to without drilling into the stairs! Excellent piece of kit BabyDan

Useless. If you can drill holes just buy some wood
Useless. Buy a piece of wood, paint it and screw it to where it needs to go. You will save money, time, and a headache that I got from trying to understand how to make it work. Eventually I had to drill it and use screws to fix it properly…

This is a terrible design. How this became EU certified is a mystery. Whilst the instructions are grim and dismal, it isn't too complicated to figure out once you examine the contents. The real problem is the over-engineering, which looks like it was designed by someone just learning. You'd be better off buying a piece of 2x1, painting it white, and using ratchet straps. Seriously, that will be much more secure then this garbage. I strongly recommend NOT purchasing this garbage. Let me explain, briefly, how this works: It has you take one of the straps, apply an adhesive sticker on it to stick the strap to one side of the wood. Then you wrap it around the wood, through some goofy plastic "hinge". All the parts are plastic. You look strap through these triangular hinges. Problem is, there's no way to ratchet it tighter against the post. It's relying, a lot it would seem, on the adhesive. You can never really get it snug enough to where the post isn't sliding up and down or left and right...even with the adhesive stickers. It is just a dreadful design. Go on amazon, search for a pair of ratchet straps and that'll secure the post a lot better than this.
