Derma Sciences NG50 Nasal Tube Fastener, Adult (Pack of 50)

My infant son requires an NG tube after a death-defying encounter with RSV and H. flu pneumonia at 3 weeks old. The medical supply place that fills his prescription only carries Tegaderm. While I love the look of Tegaderm, because I can see more of my son's beautiful face, it is easily removed by his constantly flailing arms and ever-improving hand coordination, and, therefore, cannot be trusted to hold his NG tube in place. Even though the Derma Sciences NG50 is designed to fasten to an adult nose, it works well on an infant's face if you separate the narrow "T" from the wider wing-shape. We use the wing across the width of his cheek (it's perfectly contoured!) and the "T" across the bridge of his nose, wrapping any excess around the tube closest to his nostril. We change the tape twice a week: when we change the tube and midweek, when his skin oils have rendered the adhesive slightly less effective. A special "Thank you!!" to the nurse at the hospital that introduced us to this alternative to Tegaderm!! We love it!!

No chance of this coming loose! Good adhesive quality, make sure and use a skin protectant and cleanser.

Better than skin erosion from trying with regular medical tape.

Having quality supplies is a must! These are the same ones used in hospital setting and are perfect for securing naso feeding tube to side of face to prevent it from accidentally being dislodged.

Love, love, LOVE this product. I have EDS and have extremely sensitive skin. I was getting blisters and skin breakdown from the other tapes recommended by the hospital that would be strong enough to keep my NG in place. When I went in for my last visit my nurses all LOVED this. It’s so minimal in regard to how much adhesive is on your skin and it’s comfortable and breathable to wear but very strong, I don’t tape my NG to my cheek at all anymore, just my nose. To change the tape easily I just recommend taking it off after a shower when it’s wet and then cleaning up your skin with a skin safe adhesive remover. Hands down this is the best medical product I’ve found for my NG thus far!

My son is 7 months old, we have to trim these to fit his tiny features, however they are the only thing that has consistently stayed in place. Since he’s so young he pulls out his tube and pulls off his tape often he hasn’t been able to get his tube out as easy with this. It has the perfect amount of stick but hasn’t been difficult to get off the skin or the tube. 10-10 recommend.

Not worth the price. Doesn't stick overtime. Comes off next day and leaves sticky residue. Try another item.

It works well holding my dobhoff tube in place. The color blends well with my skin and the tape is thin, so it looks way better than using bandaids.
