Zatarain'sSouthern Buttermilk Chicken Fry Mix, 9 oz

Just what I was looking for buttermilk flour for chicken. lol Very tasty, light and perfect for chicken, steak or pork. Not so think it burns before the chicken is even done. It would be great for chicken strips and homemade sawmill gravy. Highly recommend if you lover buttermilk.

To make great fried chicken you just need this mix, Crisco oil, buttermilk and a cast iron pan. Soak chicken pieces overnight in enough buttermilk to coat. Then coat pieces in the Zatarain’s/water mixture. Then shake pieces in the dry Zatarain’s in paper bag or ziplock. Oil in hot pan to 1/2” depth. Low medium heat; no need for splatter. Fry pieces skin side down for 10 minutes, leaving alone. Turn for 10 more minutes. Move to plate with paper towel for draining. Adjust cooking time according to size of chicken pieces.
