633 DC is awesome!! let me tell you all about it
I got the 633DC, this is a great fan,. It's a little bigger than I expected to be but that's a good thing,. it's pretty much silent at the low speeds and it does get a little bit noisy at the highest speed what is really not that bad. I made a video to actually show you guys exactly how quiet and how loud it gets,. even on the highest setting I really don't have to have my TV turned up too much louder than normal to be able to listen to my TV,. the motor is pretty much silent on this thing so you're really just hearing the blades pushing and cutting through the air as they spin so it's a little quieter than most fans,. any fan where the blades are spinning at a high speed will get a little bit noisy though I mean that's just going to happen so I don't know why some people are complaining.if you position this in your room correctly it'll move air around your room like you wouldn't believe and it'll circulate your air around the entire room as advertised. if you don't position it in your room correctlt it's not going to work as good as it could so positioning is very very important, Get it right and you'll be amazed at how much cooler your room feels with this around half power maybe 60% power, at those speeds it pushes the air around a great and it's not even that noisy, around 50 or 60% it just feels like some nice background noise which will block out a lot of The unwanted noise from things happening outside or other people in your house,. I can still have my TV at a pretty low listening volume until I get around 70% or higher on this van and at that point I might need to turn the TV up just a little bit but not too much.but I would say this is about 15 or 20% bigger than the other medium air circulators I've had in the past,. I had a older vornado and unfortunately it took a pretty bad full one day and something happened to the motor when it hit the ground and we had to get rid of it,. it was great until that happened, after that I I bought this lasko air circulator fan that look just like a vornado design because it was dirt cheap on sale and I figure it must be just as good ,. It's always vibrated and rattled and the motor shaft it's still had a lot of play in it which was I think the reason that rattled and made so much noise and vibrated all the time it was a very noisy fan even on the lowest setting because of those things but I used it for a good six maybe seven years, it cooled the room okay but nowhere near as good as this thing or the old vornado. I noticed it was really getting worse on the rattling and shaking and vibrating so I said you know it's time to get something else so I got this and so far I am extremely happybottom line though this fan is a beast and it's so nice to have this variable speed control or you can set the set the power exactly where you want it you don't have high medium and low you have you know 5% or 10% or 12% or 20% or 90% power or wherever you want to set it exactly to where you would like it.As long as this thing ends up being reliable in last many years I know it's a little bit of expensive but man it's totally going to be worth it,. Is this thing last 10 plus years I think I'll be pretty happy with that, it's amazing that these things have a 10 year warranty,.my understanding is the DC motor that this band has is a really really high end loader manufactured by a really grapes motor making company I guess you would say, I guess this company makes fans forserver power supply and server power supply will run 24 hours a day for years and years and years never being turned off so I'm going to assume this must be a really reliable motor in this thing. I can actually remember the name of the company that is supposedly making these motors but I know it's a very good motor making company.and supposedly this thing saves 80% more electricity over a regular fan which is very nice and I know a lot of these DC models had a external power supply which a lot of people didn't like what this particular model of the power supply is built into the fan itself.all I can say is awesome things I hope you guys enjoy the long review sorry it's a little bit long but I'm very happy and impressed with this thing.

Great Compact Fan
Small fan, big power. The variable power lets you dial in just the right amount of air flow. Very quiet at lower settings and acceptable at full power. Probably stronger than any other fans of a similar size. It’s a really small fan, so it’s best in small spaces, or close distance. Typical Vornado quality, you get what you pay for.Update:I’ve had this fan for a few weeks now, I really like it, having the variable speed is even better than I expected, you aren’t limited to 2 or 3 speeds, you can dial in the EXACT amount of airflow you want. Most compact fans have only 2 speeds. The lowest speed might be too low to be really useful unless you are only 1 foot away. If you had it on the desk you were sitting at maybe. I have it on the nightstand about 3’ away from me and I haven’t had it above 1/2 yet, and it is still quiet enough that it doesn’t interfere with my sleep. Unlike most fans, the power/speed control is on the front, much easier to deal with than the more typical rear mounted control. Especially if you’re in bed; just reach over and turn it on/off and up or down. This replaces the Vornado Pivot 3 that I’ve been using for the last couple years. This is a definite upgrade.

Great fan for the energy conscious
My RV runs on solar power, so the less power a device uses, the better. This uses only what it needs. A normal AC fan will be 24W on low, 25W on medium, and 26W on high. There is no saving for using low. This will use 1W on the lowest setting! of course, the setting doesn't use much air. At even the highest setting, it only uses 13W, and it moves a ton of air.I like the level of noise as white noise when sleeping. However, it only sounds truly good at high speeds. At medium or low speeds you can hear the fan go a little faster, then a little slower, then a little faster, then a little slower, endlessly. It's really distracting when trying to sleep. It's super subtle, but once you notice it, you can't unhear it. It must be something to do with how it controls the fan speed. It cycles like this every 1.5 seconds, so it's really noticeable. All in all, it's a great fan. I love the small size (I bought the smallest unit.)One word of warning: Don't let it fall to the ground when it's running! There's a really good chance the fixed rubber magnet in the fan blades will crash into the motor's stator and scrap off a piece of the rubber. There is very little clearance between the two. If that rubber shard is still sticking to the magnet, it will scrape the stator as it spins around, making a super annoying sound! I've had to disassemble the fan twice to remove a little chip of rubber that was scraping. It's tricky to do, and not something I would want to do often.

Variable Speed, Quiet & Effective
It's plastic, but still the nicest fan I've ever owned. The primary feature here, absent in even the highest priced fans, is variable speed control. I have never had a fan as effective yet as quiet as this. I cannot say much for longevity, but the 5-Year Guarantee speaks for itself. Mind the size and if seeking a superb, small fan, I highly recommend it.
