Good size cell, sturdy, good price
These cells, 2.5" x 2.25" x 3" deep are great for tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, etc. They are sturdy and reusable the next year: they seldom tear when I use a teaspoon to get a plant out of the tray when I'm transplanting them into my garden. They're inexpensive@ My seed growing has expanded to grow 100 seedlings of great heirlooms and hybrids, mostly tomatoes and peppers each Spring for myself friends and neighbors. I wouldn't have the room to do it without a micro-greenhouse in the corner of a heated port of two shelves, each holding two 1020 trays with heat pads and grow lights with up to 6 of these six-cell trays in each one. Putting the moist soil in them and planting 2 seeds in each one at a separate table, then picking up the sturdy, 6-cell tray with one hand and putting it in the "greenhouse" is no problem - they're good and strong.

Product suits my needs...
This is the 3rd time I ordered these seedling trays. I start my tomatoes and peppers about 6-8 weeks before they go outdoors. It's mid Feb. and my 8b zone ranges from 22-70 degrees until I plant outside early to mid April. I use a lightweight planting mix and these trays hold the mix in my 10/20 trays. I bottom water and the slots in the trays allow proper watering. I have reused some of these trays 3 times so far and have had no problems doing so. They are thin. They hold soil. They are slightly tapered and release my plants when I invert the tray supporting the plants with my fingers. If you are looking for trays that are strong, heavy duty, can be hosed out at the end of the season...these aren't them. Everything seems to cost more than it should but I'm not running a commercial operation and I don't drop or throw these around. I'm satisfied with the price/value/point and they serve my needs. I'm glad they can be shipped to my door and I don't have to search and settle for what I can find or use paper cups or used food containers as my only source of containers ( I do transplant some into large yoghurt containers tho...lol.

For deep roots thus to flimsy for small seeds. Not a thick plastic; perhaps one usage
They are deep as advertised & probably better for bigger sized seed starting like beans & squash, or preprograming. I planted smaller seeds & the roots didn't need the depth, and this made them hard to get out. Pushing the bottom upwards didn't work owing to the flimsiness of the plastic. It caused several of my plants to be destroyed because they were the wrong seeds for this depth.

A must have for indoor seedling starts
This is hands down the best starter tray around. I grow over 400 different cultivars a year, and most of my indoor starts begin in one of these trays. They are extra deep and very square (maximizing the dirt available to the plant and the depth it can grow before getting root bound). You can fit 4 of these in a standard 1014 tray (for 24 plants) and 6 in a standard 1020 tray (for 36 plants). Sure you can start more plants per in the smaller six-pack starter trays, but most plants grow out of those trays WAY TOO FAST!!! Summary: outstanding functionality (unbeatable), ideal plant growth, and easy to use. What are you waiting for? Up your gardening game today.

Great trays for seed starting and durable to reuse.
Great trays for seed starting and durable enough to reuse. I have often saved my trays from burpee plants but no longer buy those plants as they are getting so expensive. This year I planted all of my own seed in they trays with great success. I waited to write this review until I transplanted the plants into my garden and with the exception of one tray that split they are going to all be reusable. Good quality for a great price.

Great value, large cells
These are a great value for the money. I spent a lot of time searching for the right seed trays. I was looking for cells that are large enough to give my tomato seedlings plenty of room for roots, could tightly fit into my 1020 trays and were affordable. These fit all those boxes. They are sturdy enough. Im not sure they will last multiple seasons but at the price that is ok.

They are thin but can be used multiple times when careful moving in n out of trays

Handle them carefully
While you get a lot of them for your money, I have recycled planting plastic six packs for three or four years, these will only last one time. They are thin and fragile. They tear easily when you remove seedlings..
