T Tulead Brass Mini Tank Threaded Ball Valve 1/2" NPT Male to Female Ball Valve, with Butterfly Handle

Bought it and it works great, fast shipping and looks to be good quality.

I used this because of its compact size as a shut off under my kitchen sink where I have a water filter. As others have said the threads are straight pipe thread instead of tapered pipe thread common in North America. This meant they were loose when they bottomed out in the taper pipe threads of the other pipe and leaked. A large amount of Teflon tape solved the leak. Two months to the day I came home to find the threaded portion had split spraying water all over and flooding my kitchen. Big $$$ in damage but I saved $10 of this Chinese fitting.

Chop saw'd 3 partial slices into a cast 3/4-1/2" bushing (1-1/2 bushing would have been stronger) created a die to slight tap thread the NPS into a NPT at the male end. I needed anyhow a NPS female, so this worked on the female end perfect. Use 1 1/2 wrap gas yellow Teflon tape and Teflon pipe dope for gas lines if this is your application I am told by an old timer 40 yr high end HVAC systems retiree. AI was not even close for help, nor hardware stores! 5 STAR IF IT WAS A NPT AS REPRESENTED, THE ENDS WERE TRUE CUTS! Beware: allot of newer fittings are not for gas, too large ID and small OD out there (to fit all or cheap?)

The female part is not NPT threads. Not sure what it is, but none of the 4 elbows that I bought with NPT threads fit on the female end. They don't even go around one time.

Changed the shut off valve for the water under the sink and this one worked great.

The Valve looks fine, but the threads are not cut near deep enough. On the male thread you can see that the thread form is flat and not pointed like it should be. Because the thread was not cut to the proper depth this will not mate with any other thread. Even if I hot a big wrench and forced it in it would never seal. This is going back.
