Built it in in a space that allowed opening a cabinet to view during setup and attached the exterior panel and installed it in the entertainment wall.Yes it costs a little more than a exterior plug in model but its always secure and working. My wife understands the 125 second "delay" after the power cord is plugged in and lets me know when she is ready to run out the slide outs. I'm outside doing the other hookups while she cares for the interior. We setup and tear down almost every night because of our travels for work [Many camp grounds a week]. And yes they are out there even in a different space from last time in a camp that was "good" last time. Would absolutely replace with the same item.

I guess this works OK. I say that because as I was wiring it into my RV, the lights continually showed a fault. I called my electrician who came over (and charged me for his visit). He checked the wiring which was right, checked the voltage and it was right-on, the electrician called tech support and finally got someone. They went through some tests and determined that, while the unit was working as it should, there was something wrong with the circuit board and the unit needed to be replaced, which they will do under warranty. So, I rated the unit lower due not testing the unit while at the factory.

Some people have complained about a humming noise. Its true, this device emits an sound, but that is not uncommon for electrical devices. Install this in a cabinet and you will not hear the sound. My AC compressor makes more noise than this device, so I never hear it and it is installed in the galley cabinet of my teardrop.

These surge protectors are a must for any RV. Last summer, we were in an RV space when lightening struck a tree at the next space over. The bolt hit the tree and then bounced on the ground. Everyone in the loop suffered electrical damage to their rigs and computers/TV's/radios inside their rigs. All I lost was my surge protector. It did it's job and took the entire hit, protecting all my stuff and my RV. I replaced it immediately, and 3 weeks later it again protected me from a power surge in another campground. This time it didn't damage the surge protector, it just shut off and re-set itself. Again, protected all my stuff!

This was a direct replacement for the one which prevented our motorhome from catching fire during a lightning storm. The old unit shorted out thus interrupting the flow of electricity to the coach.

Great product. If it works as advertised I will never know how well, as it should catch spikes without notice. Have not been to many camp grounds yet, plan to by the end of the year. I wish the delay was adjustable, 2 minutes is a long time waiting to power up, nut I understand the reason.

I purchased this to replace a like item, but once installed, on our first outing it stopped power to the RV and short of the product specifications even with a meter I had no idea why.I ended up bypassing the unit and using a different device plugged into the power pedestal until I can purchase a new built in surge protector that can tell me what the issue is and allow me to bypass manually remotely.

Just got it connected past weekend. It it appears to be working as it says. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 is that there is no bypass or a way to shorten the count down. But for the price, you can't go wrong.

Read the instructions, as the wiring to the unit is specifically spelled out, including the splitting of the wires to each side of the screw. Easy enough to install. It is a sizable unit,so putting it in the power source area, inside the trailer, was a challenge, but it was doable. This item is specifically labeled for Canadian use as well. The price was better than any other supply I could find, especially with the free shipping. Good job Amazon.ca!!

Easy install and works good. There is a slight buzz/humm but not noticeable in the living area. I am assuming that the people who hear the buzzing installed this in the living area.
