Amazon Basics 12 Piece Ratcheting Magnetic Screwdriver Set with Multiple Bits, Black, Blue, Silver

For the price, this is a very handy screwdriver set. Since the bits are stored in the handle, it takes up very little room. Great for people without a lot of tool storage. I got it for my son to have in college, and it is perfect for that use. There are many varied bits making this is a great tool to have around the house for general projects.

This screwdriver is very versatile. The handle and the mechanism to get to the bits feel sturdy. The ratcheting mechanism is helpful. The length and thinness are just right. However, I can see how it could snap off or break with tougher jobs.

Not perfect but close. I was looking for a magnetic tipped screwdriver…and this one fit the bill. It is alight duty screwdriver by my assessment. If your looking for a much better, but not magnetic screwdriver, Klein tools has one that is heavy duty for a little more with a buttery smooth ratchet system.And, I like the Klein bits better. They’re double ended for easy switching from one bit size to another. For instance, to switch from a #2 Phillips to a number #1 Phillips tip on the Klein all u need to do is pick one bit with the number 2 on one end and a number 1 on the other. Simply pull the bit and flip it to the other end and reinsert it.With this Amazon basics screwdriver u need to pull the bit, pop the handle open pull out the new bit and then replace the used bit. A bit of a hassle in my opinion.I own both so this review is based on my experience.

I'm not a handy person by any means, but for the few times a month when I need a screwdriver, I don't know how I lived without this. The magnetic tip is amazing, and all the bits being in the handle makes it impossible to lose any. Incredibly useful thing to have for $10

At first I liked this screwdriver...lots of magnetized bits stored inside the handle, ratcheting actions, etc. Although, the two tabs at the end of the handle, which needs to be pressed for the bits holder to pop open, is quite tight (to press). Folks with arthritis on their hands will have difficulty. I still kept using it as I liked the other features. But today, only 3 days after the return window closed, the metal shaft fell off the handle. I have used it at least a dozen times since purchasing the screwdriver, but it never fell off, but today it did. The shaft does go back into the handle, but now that it fell off, it's now loose. What a super crappy product!!! This is one of the reasons I try to avoid buying Amazon Basics products. I almost bought a Klein multi screwdriver, but that was bit more expensive, and didn't have magnetized bits. So, I gave this good-for-nothing Amazon Basics product a shot. Mistake....BIG mistake. Will never buy Amazon Basics brand. Buyer be aware!!!!!!

Alright, so here's the deal.This is a pretty good screwdriver until you get it wet.If you get it wet - and I mean, like, "using it in a wet environment" - then the guts will instantly rust into an immovable mass. This screwdriver is *ridiculously* rust-prone. At that point you no longer have a ratchet screwdriver, you have a normal screwdriver.This is true even if you're kind of careful with it. For comparison, I've got another ratchet screwdriver that has literally been used underwater in a saltwater pool and still ratchets fine. This screwdriver? Used outside the pool, accidentally got set in a puddle, boom, rustbucket.I recommend this for indoors tech work. I don't recommend this for anything outdoors. Do not allow it outside the front door.

Love this ! Use it for building my pcs and just around the house work. Very helpful and I love the ratcheting feature so I don’t have to let go and readjust when I am screwing something in.
