Q: What does the hook end serve for?

pull on a small limb to cut it, pull down a limb so you can grab it, clear out cut limbs under your feet using it like a rake, hook under a root pull to cut….. it’s endless once you get one in your hand. i live in florida and won’t buy a machete without some kind of hook on the spine. i almost use the hook more than the blade

Q: Does it come with a good sharp edge or will i need to sharpen this?

The blade is pre-sharpened and ready to use out of the box.

Q: Can I use it like an axe for tree management?

I used mine for small tree management, but anything beyond 2" thick is too much. I mainly use it for bush limb removal and small starting trees. Like clearing a fence line then I use my chainsaw to finish up.

Q: What is the actual blade length?

Blade is only 11" and almost not functional.
