Nice color and grain!!
I recieved this wood today and three of the four board were dead flat, straight and had excellent color and grain, Beautiful wood. the fourth board had a twist. This is because it has reaction wood in it. The tree probably grew on the side of a hill. You could try to flatten this board on a jointer until the cow came home but it would still twist because of the internal stresses in the wood fibers from how the tree grew. It's always helpful to know where log were harvested from to avoid reaction wood. I am going to reorder to get what i need. I have a degree in forestrery and a B.S in Wood Technology from UMass. I was a student of R. Bruce Hoadely at UMass for a number years. I spent forty years working for some very large architectural millwork companies selling drafting building millwork, store fixtues. I was the supervised up to 60 dtraftsmen and project managers. I set the schedule for 80 million dollars of work. With my degrees and work life i know wood. This board has reaction wood and nothing could have been done to avoid it twisting

Good for cigar box guitar fret boards.
All the pieces came in great shape and was able to use all the pieces to cut to 1.5 inches wide to use a fret boards.

Good quality and value
The seller was very helpful. I messaged them because the USPS hadn't scanned in the package for a week and a half, and they got on top of it. I still got the package a week late, but that wasn't their fault at all. The wood itself had perfect dimensions, looked beautiful, and no damage from shipping. My only complaint is that the wood is slightly bowed. No warp or twist, and it's not a big problem for my project, but the perfectionist in me would still have preferred absolutely straight wood. Great value for the money, however!

Great product and customer service!
I had a problem with the shipper. First delayed, then lost. I called the shipper and they were not helpful at all. Messaged Woodchucks Wood and got an immediate response. The response was very friendly, explained what happened and said it would be taken care of. Two days later it arrived! I bought the wood to hide wires on my TV stand. The wood is beautiful and matches the wood on my stand perfectly. I will add a picture when completed. I highly recommend Woodchucks Wood. Their product is high quality and their customer service is amazing.

Quality Product - Prompt Delivery
Seller promised a quality product delivered in a little over two weeks. The shipment arrived wrapped securely and 1 week ahead of schedule. The wood is quality with a clean cut and no shaved edges, very flat with no warp. I used this for shelving and it looks fabulous. I would recommend Wood-Hawk products again with no reservations.

Bandsaw Grooves
I bought this wood to scroll a project for a gift. Upon taking them out of the box, I was impressed by how beautiful and identical each piece was. As I began to sand one side with my palm sander to smooth out the surfaces, I started noticing band saw lines across the entire piece. The more I sanded the more visible they became. I realized I would have to go fairly deep to get rid of them so I turned it over and noticed they were worse on the other side. What a shame they left beautiful pieces of wood full of lines like that when all they had to do was run it through a planer and produce something worth working on. I don’t think I’ll buy from them again if this is an example of their quality wood. I posted two pictures, one of each side, since a picture definitely is worth a thousand words in this case. The one on the left I sanded, the right I have not.

It's good heartwood Walnut
It's dark heartwood walnut lumber but be ready to do some serious cleanup. Lots of saw kerf, some pretty deep. If you have access to a planer or drum sander you are all set except for the warped and/or cupped pieces (not all most are at least flat). I pulled out my seldom used belt sander with an 80 grit belt and went to work. It's probably better wood than you find at the box stores but not nearly as finished. I made it work and the project turned out fine.
