Great Buy for Family Fun
I can't really find any significant fault for the modest price of this tandem trailer. My 4 yr old loves it. Frankly I think most of the criticisms found here are overblown. It mounts securely and easily to your seat post. It connects in seconds. The U joint is silent and smooth. Other than the inevitable drag uphill (which is substantial, don't kid yourself), I never know it is there. Don't expect it to have features found on $1000 road bikes. The seat, bars, and rudimentary fixe crank are basic and clunky, the paint job isn't high quality and mars easily (who cares? Its a kid's bike and the frame is aluminum), and the tire is a cheapy (20" tires are $15 when you need to replace it). But it is pure freedom for a little tyke just experiencing cycling for the first time. My son is really minimum size for this bike. We flipped the bars around so the stem offset puts them closer to him, and lowered the seat as far as possible. He can manipulate the pedals, but he's pretty much just into freewheeling at this stage. More workout for dad. We also sprung for the backrest with seatbelt made by Trail-a-bike ($40 on Amazon). Makes mom a lot more comfortable on the road, and he seems to like it too. It clamps to his seat post, so you do have to raise the seat about 1" above bottom to use it. I'm confident he won't fly off if I hit a bump and he's daydreaming now. With young kids, you have to dumb down so many of your outdoor activities to enjoy them with the family. This thing puts cycling back on the weekend menu, long before you are going to be doing any serious hiking or paddling trips (someday...). The design is pretty insensitive to the size or type of tow bike. I've pulled it with my 59cm frame Bianchi road bike, and it works fine, but I wasn't completely comfortable on 23mm tires. Behind my mountain bike, it is rock solid, and stepping off is easier. Sway is not a big problem, unless your kiddo starts shifting around. It takes some training for young cyclists. Usually my wife is riding behind yelling at me to slow down, while my son is yelling at me to go faster (such is a man's life). He thinks it is amusing that my feet spin so fast uphill, yet we go so slow (low gearing another advantage of the mountain bike). But we all have a good time. I look forward to the day when he actually starts helping.

Good product, but wrong design for the hitch pin.
My 5-yr-old on loves this, especially when compared to the child seat he was using until we purchased this.It is, of course, heavier than a child seat, so it is literally like towing a bicycle behind you.Although the center of gravity is lower, I find it actually disrupts my balance more than the child seat, so just be prepared to ride more smoothly and make fewer quick turns and adjustments.Only one complaint: the quick-release pin on the hitch. This is the wrong design for a hitch, as opposed to a seat post or wheel clamp. It is difficult to slide a threaded bolt through a just-big-enough hole time and again, and it takes too long to screw it snug and tighten it down. Furthermore, the instructions state that you when removing the trailer, you should reattach the bolt to the bicycle hitch, not the trailer hitch. In hindsight, of course, this makes no sense for two reasons. First, if you do not clamp the bolt down tight on the hitch, it is likely that the nut will unscrew itself from the bolt and fall off (happened to me twice). Second, why not just leave the bolt on the trailer when it's not being used?Alternative: use a 2-inch long, 5/8ths inch diameter clevis pin and split pin or cotter pin (see photo). This is commonly used with trailer hitches on vehicles. Cost: $2 at the hardware store.

Low quality, but your kid will love it
This is an incredibly fun way to ride bikes with your kid, and they will absolutely love it. That being said, here's the bad stuff:- The rear tire is super cheap and stiff. I replaced it with a bmx race tire before we even used it. Saved half a pound of rolling weight in the process.- The handlebar and stem are like lead weights. Also, depending on the size of your kid, or their preferred seating position, the bar may be too tall. I swapped the bmx-style bar for a flat mountain bike bar, saving a pound of weight, and giving my kid a better seated position.- The saddle rails were bent beyond usable right out of the box, so I threw it out and bought a Bell kids bike seat for $9, because it was faster than complaining to the manufacturer.- The seatpost is super cheap quality, and was actually too small for the seatpost clamp to keep it from slipping. I measured it with digital calipers, and it was 27.02mm, but should have measured 27.2mm. Bad quality control from the manufacturer. Luckily, I had a spare 27.2mm post that I could use.- The chain was tensioned so tight that it was almost impossible to pedal, so I had to loosen the axle nuts and tension it better.- The rear fender is junk quality, so we just threw it away. This thing is Walmart quality at best, so you're not really getting a great product. If you ride discount store bikes yourself, then you probably won't care, but real cyclists should expect to be disgusted by the materials. Unless you are experienced with working on bikes, you may want to have it assembled or looked over by a real bike shop, or someone you know who cycles.

Great concept, good quality, some minor nitpicks
Lots of pros and cons but our kid absolutely loves this and that is all that counts. Our 6 year old is afraid to ride a bike but this has built a lot of confidence and gets our whole family out riding.Pros: Good quality, easy to assemble and connectCons: Often it turns my seat out of alignment, a bit hard to pull up hills if your kid can't help (2x harder than a trailer since a) older kid b) bike seems heaver), my wife has a bit of trouble with the sway (MUCH more sway than a bike trailer), Doesn't stand up on its own when you need to attach it which requires 3 hands. The fender is super cheap and the one place they cut corners, doesn't fit on all bike racks well but you can hack some solution (prepare in advance).

great buy
This has turned out to be great. It's somewhat easy to assemble on your own. But once you are up and running it is really great. Son loves it. he can pedal and we have a great time. It's good quality. The flag is an added bonus I hadn't thought of, but now appreciate. You can turn no issues.

There was a problem with the wheel. I think ...
There was a problem with the wheel. I think ball bearings are broken after first use. I will have to replace them.
