This works really well for me so far. I've developed-aged acne during perimenopause, I've been breaking out on my face and areas of my body and this is particularly helping my face using it twice a day coupled with Amazon basics benzoyl peroxide cream. My skin is smoother it's lightened any scarring and keeps the acne at Bay but I do need to use it twice a day and at night I'll put on the acne cream as well on areas of concern and then a moisturizer. I think if I was more consistent on other areas of my body it would help as well but it's definitely working well on my face with consistent use.

I'm a redhead, with highly sensitive skin, age 40. I still get acne unless I use medicated face wash 1-2x per day, every day. I have used a lot of cleansers, but this is by far my favorite. It lasts a long time, is fragrance free and it keeps my skin clear.I apply it to DRY hands, rub it around on my finger tips and apply to my DRY face. I use only about the size of a large pea each time I wash my face; just enough to barely cover all my skin. I hit my problem areas first (chin, forehead), so those get a little extra time, finishing up with my cheeks and top backside of my shoulders (where I also get acne). The only thing I do different then the directions is I remove the product with a warm wet washcloth within 20-45 seconds of applying most days, making sure to rinse and repeat so I don't leave product behind. It still works great to keep me breakout free with the shorter time. I'd think most people with less sensitive skin could probably leave it on longer than me (as instructed). I use Humane toner and a fragrance free lotion (I use a heavier lotion at night to prevent drying, and a lighter aloe based lotion during the day to prevent oil).Keep in mind that I have highly sensitive skin, so does my husband (also a redhead) and young adult daughter (also a redhead), and we all love this product!As the instructions note, you have to get used to this product (as you do with any medicated product). But the results are totally worth it! Start slow and don't leave it on for too long. When I started using benzoyl peroxide (many years before I found Humane), I haf redness and peeling for the first week and almost stopped using it. I switched to every other day until my skin could handle it daily, then twice a day. After 2 weeks my skin looked amazing! As long as I use it regularly now, I have no peeling, redness or irritation (I can skip a few days and it's not a problem). People frequently ask me what I do to keep my skin looking so good, and this is it!I absolutely love that this product is not only fragrance free, but it doesn't foam when applied. The foaming products drip all over the place and eventually bleach my pajamas/washcloths/whatever they drip on.I was also shocked at how long a bottle lasted me! It was probably at least 4 months. Way more than the one month I was getting from the department store brand, saving me money as well!

UPDATE: The dispenser now works on the bottle!!I have one main issue with this product. The dispenser pump does not work, and I would love to have it replaced if the seller can help me with this.The scent of the product bothers me and it is very thin, but otherwise the face wash works well for me.

benzoyl peroxide is the only ingredient that truly works for me. this product is vegan and cruelty free and comes in good packaging with a reliable pump. this is my forever product!!

I used Proactiv for over 7 years. It was pretty costly but it worked and gave me confidence. I stopped using them mid last year 2017 when they canceled my membership without any warning, even after calling them to discuss a possible issue but after being reassured by one of their representatives that their wasn't one, I let it go thinking that there wasn't. After 7 years of being a loyal member to them, it just wasn't a good feeling.After Googling what I need to be acnefree in terms of product, I realized all I really needed was a really good facial wash product and a waterbased moisturizer. I started with a Neutrogena facial wash, and while it worked fine for the first 5 days, I think it was just Proactiv wearing off, as after those five days I would get these white small acne throughout my face but especially around the mouth. It wasn't working out that well despite the decent reviews.I decided to go back and look again. I found this product and another product that was pill based. Both have a ton of reviews and the average rating left both at 5-stars. I'm not a huge fan of taking pills. I've found I normally feel sick afterwards and I don't like putting things into my body unless it's real food. I just better. So I chose this one and I am super glad I did. It is perfect.The first step of Proactiv and the third step both have Benzoyl Peroxide for a combined total of 5%. My skin was already adjusted to Benzoyl Peroxide and this product has 5% more. My skin gets tight but it doesn't get red. I use Neutrogena's waterbased moisturizer and it works flawlessly with this product. A lot of the time you may get white residue after and/or skin peeling and need to use a wet towel to go over them to get rid of it but with that moisturizer I don't need to. It goes on really smoothly.I don't have acne anymore. I'm saving a ton of money and just as importantly, if not moreso, I'm saving A LOT more time. Proactiv was a three step process twice a day, and including the Green Tea Moisturizer that I would get with it (if you can afford to, it's the best moisturizer I have ever used, and lasts 2-3 months), would make it a 4-step process. It was extremely time consuming and frustrating. Now with this facial wash and my moisturizer, it's a 2-step process in the morning and a 1-step process before bed.With this Human Benzoyl's product, I use it twice a day. Once in the morning after breakfast and I apply moisturizer after and a second time before bed without moisturizer. If I planned on going out or even just eating again, I would apply moisturizer. I've found that if you don't apply moisturizer and you're going to be making a lot of facial expressions (smiling, talking, eating, laughing) you're significantly more likely to have a breakout the following day, or that same day if you do that in the morning.On it's own, this is a perfect product. With a moisturizer that works for you, it becomes the perfect acne treatment around.UPDATE. I don't know what happened. It's now a 3-star product for me. Maybe the Proactiv I was using for 7 years was just "wearing off" or something but now I get a decent amount of acne, especially around the bottom parts of my mouth and chin and neckline, with some on the lower ends of my cheeks. But now it's not just acne, they're whiteheads. I've never had an issue with whiteheads before until now. And because they're whiteheads you want to pop them, even though you probably really shouldn't, but if you don't, you have a face of whiteheads (I have 4 really decent size ones right now) and it's pretty embarrassing when you're at work or school or with friends/family, or just grabbing something to eat. I am using their toner also to see if it helps, and I believe it does but not enough to make me stick with this brand. I'm going to what I used to use (sadly). It's costly but it works.I will say this though that this product is at least worth a try if you're looking for acne treatment, or a new one.
