Works beautifully until it doesn’t.
I have a 25-gallon container pond with a couple of goldfish. I needed a small filter/pump system and this looked perfect. It was easy to install and kept the pond beautifully clean for about a month. Then it died. I was past the Amazon return date, so contacted the company. After a brief conversation to determine that I wasn’t an idiot, they sent me a replacement. A week later and I’m back in business. The company is great, and I’m hoping the first filter was just a dud.Update: It's been about 8 months and the new pump is still working perfectly so I'm upping the stars. What a great product. It keeps the water crystal clear, is quiet, and is powerful enough to power my little waterfall. The only complaint I have is that it's hard to clean the carbon filter; you have to take it apart and it seems like it would be easy to break the casing. Luckily I only have to do that every 3 months. The foam filter, which needs cleaning more often, is super easy to access. Overall, very happy with this and would buy again.

Wonderful Little Pond Filter/Pump
This is the 3rd small pump I purchased for my 1/2 whiskey barrel fishpond - and it's the perfect one! The first was solar and it didn't work on rainy/cloudy days; the second was a stronger solar one that still didn't work well on cloudy days; but this electric pump is wonderful and my little fish friends love it too! It's not too strong so not spewing water over the edge causing for constant level checks; and it provides enough aeration and excellent filtration of the water. I am very happy with it, and come next spring, I will build another little fishpond and will purchase another one of these little pumps. I highly recommend this pump for small (50 gal +/-) fishpond.

Defective- not worth the hassle as clearly you get what you pay for
I purchased two - the first one lasted for a couple of weeks and quit working. I ordered another and had shipping expedited so that I could install it in my patio pond. The second arrived and was installed. I went to check in my patio pond 3 hours later and noticed that the second one wasn’t working. To say I was a little upset is an understatement. I found another filter and purchased that instead. Will be shipping these defective products back.

Consider this for your fish tank
I originally bought this for a container water garden idea I had but that didn't work out. Instead, I put it in a 10 gallon heavily planted aquarium and I gotta say I'm pleased with it. It's strong and completely silent. Compared to similar submersible filters marketed for aquariums, I'd say this is more bang for your buck. The internal sponge filter is large and works well. There is a little cup with some sort of carbon pellets in it but that's easily replaced with some other sort of media if you want. I bought a Dennerle internal filter for more money and it sucks compared to this filter. The water flow is strong. It wouldn't be good for a still water betta tank or something, but it's great for a planted tank with snails and river fish that like strong water current.

Affordable pond filter option
The media could not be loaded. I set up a micro pond in a potting container and the water was getting murky with the two goldfish in it. So I added barley straw and this pump filter which helped a lot and aerates the water for the fish. The flow is a little too strong for a small container but it’s ok for now. Only complaint is that because I have a container with a curved edge, the suction cups don’t work really well so it slips down a lot. I’ve cleaned it once so far and seemed super easy. Just pop it open and clean off the sponge. I’ve had it about 3-4 weeks now so hopefully it will last a while. I do have to turn it off to feed the fish, otherwise their food stinks right away.

Great product
This is a great little device. Perfect for my small (8 gallon) box turtle soaking pond. This filter keeps the surface clean enough that I don’t have to change the water daily anymore. It creates very little movement in the water, too. Box turtles cannot soak in moving water and are wary of moving water.I also like that I didn’t have to buy separate filter and pump products. This device is both in one!

pump works fine, just very delicate and not easy to take ...
I have 5 of these and the plastic on the top joint that separates the parts for cleaning have broken,I tried being gentle with it,but the plastic cracks at the top seam.pump works fine, just very delicate and not easy to take apart for cleaning without issues.....

Simple to use filter
This is an easy to use pond filter. They last over a year with continuous use...... unless, baby racoons discover your pond makes a great bath tub/play pool and the filter is a fun toy to dismantle. These are a good value when you have to replace what the racoons have claimed.

Great little filter pump and aerator
I have a 25 gallon tub and have kept the same five comets and shubunkins for the last 6 years with just two water changes/cleanings a year. No added filtration or aeration. These goldfish are tough. They've come through winters with ice covering the tub no problem. This pump looked perfect for my container size so I bought it mainly to see if it would supplement the surface aeration. The aerator setup works great and the fish are more lively. The pump is on a timer. I like the idea of the all-in-one compact filter but I keep it off the bottom where most of the waste settles so I don't know how effective it actually is. Should help in keeping the ph balanced I guess. So far so good.

Perfect for your little pond
Awesome little filter for my patio pond. It's kept it crystal clear. The only issue I had, the suction cups wouldn't stick.

Good little filter.
Works good. Hard to find a filter that works for a small (50 gallon) pond.

works well
The pump works well, but since using in my 267 litre pond, not strong enough. I will be using it in my much smaller aquarium. Its good up for a 20/25 gallon tank in my opinion.
