Sophie Madison Women's Junior Fit Down Fill Belted Coat with Pillow Hood

Stylish enough to wear to my professional office job without sacrificing any warmth. The down fill and inner jacket layer make this coat super warm and windproof. You also don't need a scarf because of the sweater-knit collar that zips up to your chin. The outer fabric is water resistant enough to be out in the snow without getting soaked.The hood is HUGE, so you have to fold it, but the nice part is that it won't ruin your hair! It also fits nicely if you have a thick hat on.I was very impressed with the fit - it is really flattering and doesn't give a bulky appearance. I was worried there would be too much fabric in some areas but it fit me perfectly. Big fan overall!

Cute coat. Very warm! My only issue is the hood. It seems quite large and I don't know what to do about it- seems like a challenge to wear without looking like the grim reaper.

This coat has a few things that I love - it looks great, seems to be made of quality materials, and is VERY warm (I live in the upper midwest so that's necessary!). I do have a few issues though... the hood.... it's extremely large. When it's up I feel like the grim reaper. And there is no way to keep it up if it's windy - since it's so large the wind easily blows it off, also, I wear a cross body purse all the time and it's not easy to get the strap under the hood (that's not a deal breaker but just an annoyance I thought I'd mention); the fit... I asked a question regarding fit and due to the responses I got the large .. I am a women's size 8. While I'm not drowning in it, I do feel like I could've gotten the medium. My biggest issue is the double zippers. I don't know if there's something wrong with mine but I have the hardest time zipping the outer (main) portion of the coat thanks to the double zipper. It's hard to feed to the 2nd (bottom) zipper - it takes me several attempts which is very annoying. Today I gave up and just buttoned the coat. Part of me wants to return or exchange it but it's such a hassle and I don't want to be without a coat in the middle of winter.The coat did arrive in record time though.. I think I purchased on a wednesday afternoon and it was delivered that sunday (yes, SUNDAY!).I would've given this coat 5 stars had it not been for the faulty zipper and the large hood.

Measurements found in the description are very accurate. I am a size 10 with a large chest and the size L is perfect and I even have room to layer underneath. The knit details at the sleeve openings and around the neck are nice additions. Yes, the hood is very large, it's a "fashion hood", but that is clearly shown in the pictures and it has enough fabric that it can be folded to make it a bit more utilitarian. Great jacket for the price.

Fits a bit smaller than I expected but not too bad and nice and warm.

Oh my God! All I can say is "Where has this coat been all my life?!!". This is a true winter coat, with several layers to keep you warm and to keep any gusts of cold air from robbing you of body heat. It is also very stylish! The belt is great for accentuating the waist and bringing back a feminine silhouette in the bulk of warmth. I live in Maryland and commute to DC on public transportation and because of this coat, I no longer dread 30 degree weather and below!
