B1870 Barbera Pregiata Italian Taste Premium Blend Roasted Coffee Beans, 2.2 Pounds

Our favorite Italian cafe uses this coffee for espresso and make the best latte in town. I was very excited to see it on Amazon so I could give as a gift for home use. It has a very pleasant, non-bitter, non-acidic taste. I’ve also used it ground for filter coffee with pleasing results, although it is intended for espresso. Store beans in freezer once the package is opened to retain the freshness and flavour. If the taste is not right initially, change the size of the grind a little bit and adjust until you get the nice flavor.

This used to be my favorite espresso. Silky smooth with a thick caramel colored crema. Perfect! BUT....The beans in this bag smelled and looked old. I made one espresso, it was awful and had no crema at all. I poured it straight down the sink. The remaining beans were poured into the garbage. Such a disappointment and such a waste of coffee and money. I’m sorry to say that I was extremely disappointed! Doesn’t deserve one star.

Coffee was stale and probably moldy. Small holes apparent throughout the bag. This is a good brand so probably a bad batch, and no wonder this was on sale... learned the lesson.
