Emily's Balloon

This is a beautiful and elegant book, and it made a perfect gift for a little girl named Emily (the character even looks a lot like the real Emily). She loved having it read to her (she's three). Very nice story.

Such a lovely story and beautiful illustrations. It's a treat to read every time and my kids just love it. There is a gentle rhythm to the story that keeps my kids transfixed.

We bought this book for a girl named Emily, but I'm hesitant to give it to her. The illustrations are sweet and charming, but the overall plot is a bit sad. Emily loses her balloon and is sad at the end. The idea, I'm guessing is to help children deal with loss, but it seemed too heavy for my tastes.

This is a well-written story of a young toddler who spends the afternoon with her new yellow balloon. As any parent of a toddler will agree, balloons are such an amazingily simply toy for young ones to watch and enjoy. My young son had this simple text memorized after just two readings so I now get to enjoy him reading this one to me. Beautifully illustrated.

My 4 year old granddaughter likes this book! I do too. A touching story, simply told, and beautiful, visually gentle, illustrations, that fit the mood of the story so well.

my toddler loves balloons and i love art so this is a win win. i can read this story over and over again and i get a little eye candy in the process while my toddler gets what she loves...balloons!
