Taught in a simple and easy to understand manner
The media could not be loaded. This is a great book for architecture students, sketchers and those who want to develop the skill of sketching. It's a 128-page paperback written by Stephanie Travis who teaches interior architecture and design. The book collects lots of useful tips on sketching. You'll need observational drawing skills to get the most out of the book. Many of the examples require you to draw what you see. There's not so much of constructing objects from imagination. The main drawing tools used are markers and the fine, medium and thick stroke pens.Earlier chapters focuses on the basic fundamentals and simple techniques that are used in the later chapters. There are techniques to help you present your drawings more clearly, lessons on perspective, exercises on positive and negative style of drawing, how to render textures and many more. The exercises are short and easy to follow. The underlying concept is the process is more important than the end result itself. Through drawing, you'll learn more about the subject that you have drawn.Overall, it's quite an insightful book with plenty of useful techniques. It's a good book for beginners.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

Great Book!
The hardest part of sketching is actually getting started, and this book gives a ton of great exercises to get you going! They're broken down into steps that are easy to follow, and cover a range of scales, so that you can start with a piece of furniture you have at home, or go out into the world and sketch/appreciate the architecture around you. Would recommend for anyone who is looking to get into, or back into, sketching, especially if you're interested in architecture and design.

I LOVE THIS BOOK
I loved the drawings in this book, not too technical and focuses more on the pictures.

Very comprehensive book!
The book is fantastic, detailed and simple to understand, however it arrived unprotected and in very poor condition, the side seemed to be dirty and there were marks all over it.

Great book for architecture students and anyone wanting to improve their skills.
This is an amazing guide to not just sketching, but observing and imagining through sketching. I am at the end of the book now, been doing all exercises everyday for the past couple of months, and must say, my sketching has improved. I went to architecture school, and they didn't teach sketching the way Stephanie does. A great effort on her part. The language is very simple and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book to all aspiring architects or interior designers or anyone who wishes to brush up their existing sketching skills.

Amazingly Clear and Easy to Follow
I used this book for my modern architecture and design class, and it helped improve my sketches and drawing skills. Each exercise has a number of steps that break down a complex final sketch into easier parts. This book contains chapters of furniture and lighting, interiors, and architecture. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn or improve their architecture and interior design sketching skills.
