ESV Study Bible

I've been looking for a good study bible for some time and having picked up my daughters copy I thought this would be ideal. I also looked at an NIV one but found this easier to read. I'm a great fan of Wayne Grudem especially his book on systematic theology, so it's lovely to see his handywork in this study bible. Lots of extra resources, and maps and pictures, as context is everything. I wish I had bought this a long time ago, and I can't recommend it enough.

I have been wanting this for ages .Seems it on Instagram so I bought myself one . I am so glad I did as its so informative. Not keen on the cover design so for now just covered it in clear plastic as I know it will get dirty as it's White and I will be using it a lot .The pages are thin ( need to be) so will struggle to get highlighters but on every page so much information to help you understand each passage so no more googling when I don't understand. Well worth the money. Quite heavy as so big but I love it .God bless .

This is a fantastic study bible with thousands upon thousands of cross references between the two testaments. I would fully recommend purchasing BOTH the physical and digital versions of the book. It is also fully illustrated but the illustrations do not “get in the way” a lot of thought has been given in the design of the book. Highly recommendable !!

I have the book version of this bible and its a beast! So, for the price, I figured I wouldn't be crying if it wasn't a brilliant kindle version as I always have the book to go back to. Honestly, I'm surprised it's not charged more as a kindle version! I have the fire 10 and use the kindle app on it. This means all the pictures, info graphics, charts and maps are all in colour. The linkage from the text to the the notes, cross references, dictionary and so is superb and I've pretty much shelved my beloved paper version and happily use the kindle version. The guide at the beginning of this version explains how it all works and it took a read through once or twice to fully grasp it as it's a significant amount of text and how they've put it all together. I cannot comment on a kindle paper l, but on the kindle app on the fire tablet, it's the cats pyjamas!

Excellent value for money, especially the kindle version being under £10! As other reviews have mentioned, this version has been well thought out for the kindle, which was my main concern over whether to buy ebook versus hardback. The translation itself I find helpful in understanding God's word, it is clear and accurate as a word for word translation. Usually I prefer the nkjv, but for study purposes this is really excellent. The range of articles is fantastic and the study notes, cross references, concordance etc are all easily accessible on the electronic version. I don't doubt I will be dipping into this quite often for years to come. Couldn't recommend this highly enough!

I can't remember why I choose to buy this particular version of a Kindle Bible (Oh yes I do, I wanted an ESV to complete my Kindle set of Bibles which I'm easily able to carry around with me). Anyway, once I'd got it downloaded, I found it to be so helpful with loads of amplifying explanations of verses and so many charts and diagrams. A really helpful feature is that each of the charts and diagrams can be viewd on a web page if you need to see it in greater detail. Another helpful feature is the "Index" facility where you are able to type in a short code for each book and then a chapter number and you can quickly go to that new reference. So, for instance, if you're currently reading in Isaiah chapter 53 and need to quickly jump to John chapter 3, you simply hit the facilities key on the Kindle, click down to "Index" and type in "Jn 3" and there you are. I find this a much quicker system for re-direction than many others. I have a number of study type Bibles and find this one to be the best (from my personal point of view)

UPDATE: Matthew 17:21 was omitted from this bible. The NIV bible also omits it. Other verses were omitted also. I am starting to think I need to find an old used bible. So far I have found the book of Tobit and of Ruth missing. Lots of maps and diagrams. Lots of explanation of measurements (a shekel for instance). Lots of commentary. Almost good glossary.

Très bien présenté, des sections bien arrangées, et les notes/explications sont très précises, et objectives. C'est un peu écrit petit. mais avec de bonnes lunette !!!

Mein Hintergrund Seit über 30 Jahren bin ich begeisterter Bibelleser, -forscher und -geniesser. Ich leistete mir eine teurere Ausgabe mit Leder und Goldschnitt Hier beziehe ich mich jedoch nicht auf die Ausstattung, sondern auf den Inhalt. Meine Erfahrung mit der Studienbibel Die ESV Study Bible hat mich auf einem einjährigen Durchgang den gesamten Text begleitet. Auch heute hole ich sie immer wieder hervor, um einige Kapitel daraus zu lesen. Meine Argumente für die Studienbibel 1. Die English Standard Version (ESV) kombiniert präzise Übersetzung und Verständlichkeit. 2. Die Einleitungsfragen sind genügend lange und bleiben doch so kompakt wie nötig. 3. Die thematischen Aufsätze ergänzen die Kommentierung des Bibeltextes. 4. Die Notizen zu den einzelnen Versen sind knapp gehalten. Es gab kaum Stellen, an denen ich einen Kommentar vermisste. 5. Unterschiedliche Auslegungsvarianten werden einander gegenüber gestellt und verglichen. 6. Thematische und inhaltliche Auffälligkeiten sind in anschaulichen Tabellen und Aufstellungen zusammengefasst. 7. Die dreidimensionalen Abbildungen (wie z. B. Stiftshütte und Tempel) ziehe ich auch bei Familienandachten als Hilfsmittel hinzu. 8. Parallelstellen: Die wichtigen Querverweise sind vorhanden. 9. Sämtliche Editoren sind mir durch ihre Bücher und Aufsätze bekannt. Ich weiss, dass sie die Bibel lieben. 10. Trotz der vielfältigen Unterstützung bleibt der Bibeltext im Vordergrund. Empfehlung Es gibt keine vergleichbare Studienbibel in der deutschen Sprache. Wer der englischen Sprache mächtig ist, sollte sie sich anschaffen.
