Professional Wood Burning Kit, TEKCHIC Pro1 Wood Burners for Wood Burning Pyrography with 20 Wire Nibs Tips Including Ball Tips

I had thought the unit was dead out of the box. No display and neither pen got hot. Started to pack the unit back up to send back and noticed the power switch on the side of the unit. I think some instructions would have been nice.So after finally finding the power switch, unit works great. Fast to heat up and cool down. Great unit for the beginner who doesn't want to spend a lot. Also better than a solid point burner.

I am a professional pyrography artist and have tried a number of burners. This burner has been used consistently for hours at a time over 2 years now, and it is still working strong. This unit is great for beginners and professionals. The images I added are pieces I created with this burner.

Love that I have two separate controls that quickly heat up, do wish that the handle had a bit more protection against heat than it does but it’s definitely good other than that. The tips are easy to install, do get hot quickly and they can and will bend but that’s the same with most. Good price and good quality. Just wish a little better insulated on handles to protect fingers from the heat in the tool

I bought this back in late Jan with very little experience with wood burning (a cheap home depot wood burn pen) and the difference is well worth the money. The temp control, variety of pins and the grips have allowed me to accomplish a number of projects in great detail and satisfaction. I would recommend this to anyone interested in wood burning.I did run into a snafu a few weeks after use. The pens stopped heating up and aside from ripping a part the pens, I tried everything reasonable to troubleshoot the issue. My hunch is that the wires may have gotten too hot for too long and caused some damage. I reached out to the supplier and she was able to ship out a new unit with me returning the old one within a week. It has been a couple of months and no signs of irregularities.The product is great, the hobby is soothing and the supplier stands by their product with customer satisfaction in mind.

READ ENTIRE REVIEW!! Worked well. Until it didn’t. Used infrequently as a hobby. Definitely not heavy use. I Was mid burn and it stopped working. The ground had come loose inside. Got it soldered. Worked for about 2 minutes.Lasted a little more than a year. I do like the dual pen and tips.Edit: I contacted the company and they said they would mail me out a replacement. I am awaiting the new machine. Once I actually receive it I will update to five stars for their customer service and backing their products.EDIT2: I received my replacement kit in the mail today. I am very Impressed with the customer service and them standing behind their products. I will definitely continue to purchase this brand because I really do like the machine and the customer service went above and beyond!

The unit slowly lost power over several days. When it worked, pens get hot to hold for long because they're plastic with no insulation. This is identical to many others sold under different names, and there is no name or any other identification anywhere on the case of this one, nor is the seller the same as the brand. None of the suppliers provide any useful specifications, like wire gauge, and all of them call their units "professional", which is ludicrous. This one has what appear to be very thin (20 gauge or thinner) wires on the pen (it isn't marked in the standard way!). There is a 3-prong (grounded) plug, but the ground wire is cut off in the box. There isn't much to these devices electronically, and I'll revise this review if/when I find a better one for a reasonable price. I'd look for a well insulated handle and collet type nib retainers (rather than screws). I prefer plain wire nibs because they're inexpensive and reasonably easy to interchange, and you can make your own from cheap nichrome wire.

I got into wood burning by chance. I started researching better types of wood burners out there and settled on TEKCHIC. It's everything it said it was. As you can see in the pictures, my first wood art burn was easy with their pens. It was almost as easy as drawing on paper. I have big hands, so the burner handle is the perfect size for me to grip comfortably. I will note on the higher temp's, the front end of the burner handle can get hot, so be aware when using. My hope is my new wood burner will outlast me and my son's or grandchildren will get to enjoy it as much as I do.Special thanks to Clair at TEKCHIC for sending me the 5 free ball burning pens with my purchase. I loved this unit when it came in the mail and I was super excited about it except when I went to turn it on for the second time, the entire unit did not work...power was completelydefective. Such a bummer because it could have been so awesome. I had to send it back for a refund.

,Well I have used this item on a few occasions ,up to now I cannot fault it, the only thing I had an issue with was in the small instruction paper, it stated will run best on 120-130v, I'm in the UK, 240v so it came with an UK plug, hope it will be safe from burning out, I purchased a voltage regulator, coming down from 240v to 120v, BUT! REGULATOR had UK plug in but US plug out, fingers crossed......

On the box is written that kit includes case, but it's not :). This is not a problem for me. Hopefully the burner is good quality so i can do my projects.

Looks impressive in advertisment however on receipt the tips are very thin and weak. After using it in January and produced 6 coasters it worked ok.Took it out today to use and it powers up but does not heat up at all. Beware the warranty is restricted as it is some 10 months after purchase it is suggested I return it for repair at my cost. As it is sold with the normal 12 months warranty, I feel this is totally unacceptable. It is made with flimsy components and lots of plastic it is extremely poor quality. It is now being offered at a reduced price of £42.22 , I paid £49.99. It would be expensive if it was free. Do not purchase this item as it is rubbish

I'm a total beginner so wasn't really sure what I was buying. It turns out this is a really good kit. The numbers on digital heat control are probably a bit misleading but my unit, at least, maintained a consistent temperature.I have given it 4 stars because one of the pens had a damaged screw making it unusable. Having read reviews about how responsive the company is I will contact them for a new screw.Other than that, no complaints at all.
