These wrote ok. Honestly the idea of a special pen was better than the experience of writing with a different pen.

The pen is a good size, and fits well in the hand. The surface of the pen is smooth and not overly slippery. It is a simple design and well built to last a long time. It is a simple one color utilitarian style pen to provide for the basic function of writing.

For the price, this is a nice fountain pen.My biggest issue was so few refills included and Amazon does not sell Amazon basic refills to go with their own pen.I have about 20 fountain pens - not a connoisseur - but this was nice for what it was. Other reviews have mentioned "standard" cartridges fit...but it's still an annoyance to me. B/c then I am risking buying cartridges that won't fit...

The Amazon Basics Fountain Pen is an excellent value.I’ve owned several fountain pens, and this one writes just as well, if not better, than pens that cost ten times more.In addition to its smooth writing, I always perform a specific test. After filling the pen with ink and writing for a while, I close the cap and lay the pen on its side. I leave it there for a few days before uncapping it and writing again. Many fountain pens fail this test because the ink dries up in the nib. However, the Amazon Basics Fountain Pen passed with flying colors. It wrote smoothly and without any issues.This pen is a great investment. It looks and performs exceptionally well.I highly recommend this pen to anyone looking for a high-quality fountain pen at an affordable price.
