Spend the extra money and stay away. Not worth the headache and hassle
Looks the part as a cheap knock-off of another more expensive product. Unfortunately, the lock mechanism on this one is poorly designed...an aluminum 'collet' with a steel ring. Aluminum and steel have different expansion rates. This WILL slip on your torch, and when it does it will become seized in place once it cools. The slotted aluminum collet under the steel ring will twist and mangle trying to loosen the lock assembly. Ultimately resorted to a cut-off wheel to remove from torch.Spent the money on the more expensive unit...discovered it is easily removable if the bare torch is needed.

Solid Meh,
Works as advertised but not that well. The locking mechanism barely holds when tightened by hand. The nut makes it seem like you only need to hand tight as a wrench would tear up the grip (like the edge of a quarter). Once on it does a good job until it heats up enough to loosen the nut, then the head falls off. Its red hot so you have to use the tip of the tourch to get it back on or wait for it to cool off. Delivery time was ridiculously long, I can't swear but I thought it was listed as prime shipping after purchase I got an email saying it was shipping from China and I could expect it in SIX WEEKS. I checked the listing a week after I bought it and it was listed as prime with 2 day shipping. Four weeks after order, it showed up in my mailbox. Will try wrenching it down to see if the unit will stay on next time I need it. Not my best purchase.

Great crispy meat.
Using a torch on sous vide is very different than a barbeque and a superior result to pan frying to finish up a great cut of meat. It will take a few goes to get comfortable using this torch attachment, simple but a lot of open flame occurs, must have an open non-flammable area to work. For those concerned about the open flame perhaps try a George Foreman grill? This attaches to a Bernzomatic TS8000 torch, use propane gas as hotter burning mapp gas will likely shorten the life of this attachment. (spoken by someone whom has soldered a lot of copper pipe)

size matters here
First of all this is a quality unit. It's stamped steel but its welded nicely and not utra thin. The wire mesh is thick like on a propane heater so it wont have to be changed like on some of the other searing products. The main issue here is the compression attachment has so little flexibility its only going to fit the perfect sized torch. I measured with a digital caliper so you can measure your torch if you have one already. It goes from .61 down to .57 inches, 15.5 down to 14.7 mm. That's about 5/8 inch on the open size as the description states. Even a smidgeon over and it wont fit. A smidgeon under the closed size and it won't tighten. Best to stick with the recommended torch probably. I got an Ace brand torch to work by wrapping it in foil as it was a bit too small.

has some issues.
right out of the box the diffuser does not fit typical torch nozzles. it needs a 1/2 ID and 5/8 OD copper sleeve (get it in the hardware isle).when i light it and the tank is sitting upright it lights and heats beautifully but when i turn it to sear the food it flames up. i’m trying to look for a solution on the we but haven’t found it yet. :-(

Does not fit!
I have two different brands of torches and this does not fit either one. I read an answer from the supplier for a question, "will this fit in any torch or just Bernzomatic?" The answer from the supplier was "Yes, of course!". NOT! Looks like good quality though.

It would be great with a goose neck
Seared my first roast today using this tool. It's fine on a rotisserie because the meat is suspended above the grill so you don't need to tip your gas bottle. But I can't see how this is of any value at all if the meat or veg is flat on a stove. Can't tip the gas bottle that far before it sputters out. I will keep the product because I use the rotisserie a lot. But you may want to purchase a flexible gas wand.
