Replace the borken hinges of your toilet seat in minutes.
I had to repair a toilet seat in my daughters house after the hinges twisted out of place after years of being sat in. I first toyed with the idea of replacing the entire seat but as the old one still looks as new I decided to just fit new hinges, and I bought these as they had the same hinge system. These came in a plastic bag inside a box and everything I needed was inside, including a small plastic wingnut shaped tool which really helped tightening the nuts without the need to fiddle around with spanners.Just make sure your toilet seat uses this hinge system as there are so many different ones out there.Anyway, these were so easy to fit, having all you need to do so, including a pair of toilet hinges themselves. But as the hinges on the toilet seat I was fixing were still in good order I just had to replace these. All you have to do is unscrew all the bits, washers and nuts, from the thread, then push the thread rod through the hole in the back of the toilet. Once in place just slot on the washers, (plastic one first) up the thread rods and screw on the bolt, tightening it with the little plastic nut tightener in the box (a great addition, so helpful). Then, when tightened, you’re done, ready to take the royal sea once more without fear of sliding off mid-whatsit?These are made of a strong metal with soft grey washer type fittings which sit on the top of the hinge system. The washers and bolt fit perfectly well and the little nut-tightening plastic gadget is one of the best ideas I’ve seen in so long as this really does make spanners redundant when it comes to tightening toilet seat nuts.In all, a great, low cost method which will replace the hinges on some toilet seats. But check your fittings first.

Working great so far, 30 minutes later.
Bought these to replace the set which came with my toilet seat two years ago which is not made by Cornat. These fit fine (my hinges are 8mm), so I did not have to replace the hinges, only the bolts. The best thing about these is that they supply steel nuts to tighten with, not plastic/nylon which inevitably gets stripped. However, what they supplied is not exactly as pictured. Instead of wing nuts, they are standard nuts, with a plastic wing-shaped thing that fits over the nuts and helps in tightening them by hand. There is also a pair of mysterious-looking cylindrical rubber bits which I ended up sliding over the bolts to prevent the seat from sliding left and right; I doubt this is what they are for but I needed something. I originally put the rubber cylinders around the bolt to help keep it in place in the hole in the porcelain; this worked well but I thought keeping the seat from sliding side-to-side was a higher and better use. Some instructions, or at least a more accurate diagram, would have been useful.

Works.
Bought it to try and tighten up a dodgy cheap seat installed by Wickes as part of a bath room modernisation. It worked well (better than a pair of pliers and a mole grip) but didn't solve the problem - a new £50 quid seat with decent fixings did though - and a 13 mm socket was all that was needed (thanks B&Q!)Good piece of kit which will probably come in handy at the next house!

Can tighten nut onto bolt holding toilet seat
Mine turned up in white but it did the job of tighten a moving toilet seat, and as it is still moving, I hope it will also loosen the same nut to see if it is the part that attaches to actual seat that needs tightening. It is good, but, The material is a little soft.I would wish for it to be more rigid material, would be better.

Good for plastic fixings not metal ones.
I bought this tool because I thought that it would be suitable to loosen and tighten metal wingnuts on the seat bolts of a toilet. The tool does not give enough torque to tighten metal fixings but it may be OK for plastic ones. It is also difficult to use in a confined space. The best tool for metal wingnuts is a took which is unfortunately no longer available on Amazon. It resembles a box spanner with a slot cut in it to receive the wingnut and it also has a hole to insert a round bar to turn it.

Great hinges
Great product.Just installed the hinges and it was a straight forward job.A bit pricey but the hinges seem to be a lot better made than some alternatives that I've used in the past.Fast delivery too, especially considering the country's on lockdown.Thank you :-)
