Solid clamp, works on a mic stand
It fit my iPad 12.9” in portrait view, with the brackets at the top and bottom. I wanted that configuration, not one holding from the side with risk of slippage. It’s solid, holds well, clamps on a standard mic stand with a pre-existing bracket clamp. Might be too loose by itself. It would need to be 0.2” longer at its maximum to fit a thicker iPad cover. I had to get a thin silicone one.

It works as advertised
Not much to say. It's built sturdy enough; It's a very simplistic design, but it works well and as advertised. I can recommend it.

Too flimsy for IPad 12.9.
It works very well for my IPhone but would not hold my iPad steady while in motion.

Perfect for holding iPhone Plus on Sailing Pedestal Guard
This phone / tablet holder has been a great addition to our sailboat! It fits nicely over the 1” pedestal guard and holds securely. Even went through a rather lively sail in strong winds without moving an inch.

Secure!
Really enjoy this. I use it to hold my iPad or iPhone that is on a heavy duty case and will not fit any regular phone stands while navigating on my sailboat. Easy to install and remove when finished.

EPIC DESIGN FAIL! BUYER BEWARE.
I noticed that right out of the box, the iPad holder plate that attaches to the clamping arm was very loose feeling. Not at the ball where you tighten it for position but at the cup that is fitted to the back side of the iPad clamp. I gave it a gentle wiggle and sure enough the cup part separated. The only thing holding the ball cup to the iPad holder was a tiny, useless 1.5mm x 5mm screw that is threaded into plastic. It was stripped out in the plastic. Had I put my iPad Pro in this contraption, it absolutely would have fallen and broken. This is the worst designed product I've come across in awhile. I will say that the clamping mechanism feels robust as does the iPad holders' spring arms. For that reason, I decided to keep this and modify it to join the ball cup part to the iPad holder the way it should have been done. I enlarged the tiny 1.5mm hole in the cup to 5/16" and countersunk it so as not to interfere with the ball motion in the cup when assembled. Then, after first checking to make sure no mechanisms for the clamp assembly would be affected, I drilled clean through the iPad Holder with the 5/16" bit and chased the iPad-facing side to 3/8 to allow a nut to sit flush inside. This allowed me to run a stainless steel 5/16" machine screw through the cup part and iPad holder to meet the countersunk machine screw. I used plastic cement to further secure the cup to the iPad holder and CA glue to lock the nut in position inside the iPad holder. After completing all of this, I used a non-functioning iPad 9th Gen 10.2" iPad to act as test dummy. I clamped it into the assembly and shook the devil out of the whole thing. I exerted force on the iPad to test the strength of the joint between the iPad Holder, its clamp, and the ball and cup joint and it's pole clamp. It proved to be robust and fit for my use. Long story summarized. DO NOT BUY THIS if you don't plan on spending 20 minutes modifying it to make it useful for holding anything more than a sheet of paper.

Best phone holder I've ever used.
This is perfect for holding our phones on the boat. It holds them in place pretty tight. It worked so well we bought a2nd one.
