Great Beginner Climber Shoes
My 6-year-old. daughter is a new (and stubborn) climber. I got these just before her first rock climbing session outdoors. After reading other reviews, I debated between a 4 and 5, since she is in a size 1-1.5 (and sometimes 2 in sneakers). She had about an inch of space extra in the toe when they came in, even after tightening the heel. I had her brother try them on, and he wears size 2.5-3. They fit him a lot better, but with a little room to grow a half size as well. After that, it was pretty apparent I could have gotten the 4, if not the 3.This is because when we actually got out to the rock, as she was trying to climb, the toe was bending too much and she couldn’t feel any small spots to try to grip or push on her toes. After the day was over, I looked at these shoes and the Mad Rock ones with the monkey on top that I had gotten for my son, and these had held up much better. They climbed the same routes the same amount of times. His pair had rips on the bottom of the shoe already after 1 climb, but these Butora ones still looked unfazed.I’m going to keep the size 5 I got her to grow into and order these two sizes down from that (so since she’s a 1-1.5, get her a 3).

3-4 sizes too small, too narrow!
Great, comfortable climbing shoe for kids, BUT narrow and crazy small (3-4 sizes smaller than street shoe size). Daughter wear 13.5-1 in sneaker, ordered her size 3, but still too small, so ordered size 4. These shoes are crazy narrow too! Other daughter wears sneaker size 2, ordered 5 and it barely fits (hoping to stretch it out).Shipping was great, material of shoe is soft and good quality. Doesn’t seem to be anything larger than youth size 5. Wished they had larger youth sizes and wide width options since the shoes run 3-4 sizes too small! I don’t think the people who make these climbing shoes have kids or understand how kid feet vary in width/size. Seems like they make the youth shoes with the same mindset as adult competitive climbers. Please be more kid friendly, which will make life much easier for the parents who struggle to find their kiddos comfy climbing shoes so we don’t have to hear them whine about their feet being squeezed into narrow shoes!

SIZING IS OFF- but appears to be a quality product
My 6 1/2 year old son wears a size 1 1/2 to 2 shoe. I measured his foot last night and from heel to top of big toe, his foot is almost exactly 8 inches long. We ordered this climbing shoe in a size 2, thinking it would have a little room in the toes, not too much though. We got the size 2 and wow, we cannot even get my son's foot into this shoe, it is WAY too small. We returned the size 2 and ordered a size 5. We recieved that item last night. My son was able to get his foot in, but even without socks, his toe is touching the end of the shoe. Still this will not work. His feet are growing quickly and the size 5 would probably be too small for him within a few months. We are returning the 5 and ordering a size 7. Hoping the 7 will be big enough that he can wear them with a sock for a while and then transition to wearing them without socks to last as long as possible. I will update once we try those on him and see how they fit. Overall, this shoe seems to be good quality. We got the green and light blue-ish-teal shoe and the colors are true to the pic. Happy with the quality of the product but I am frustrated with the sizing. UPDATE: this shoe is not available in size 7... the next size up is 11, so it looks like we won’t be buying this shoe at all.

Good shoe, sizing is off
The shoe itself is perfectly fine and reasonably priced, however the shoes themselves run 1-2 sizes small, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

Soft & Comfortable Non-Leather Kids Climbing Shoes!
I wanted to write a review due to the other reviews I read prior to ordering -as they left me wondering how these would fit in comparison to other rock climbing shoes. I was worried they may be smaller. If you are not familiar with climbing shoes, they are sized to fit A LOT smaller than traditional shoes. But in comparison to other climbing shoes, these are very similar sizing. My son wears a size 1/1.5 in street shoes and size 4 in climbing shoes (he could probably fit in a 3 climbing shoes, but he prefers a more relaxed feel). I ordered him the size 5 and they fit great with room to grow! These are deigned with a heel strap that allows the shoes to be adjusted for a tighter fit -just love that feature! Also, they are extremely soft! My son is loving these and can’t wait to wear them!

Not as grippy as I'd have expected
Got a pair for my kid. They are a bit on the small side (no surprise there), reasonably comfortable, but the rubber is just too hard and not nearly sticky enough. Compared to the kids shoes I can rent at the gym, these are not in the same league as far as the stickiness goes. They are also less sticky than my various adult-sized climbing shoes. Scuffing up the rubber helped a bit, but overall the rubber is just too hard, and they slip a lot.

Good quality
My son's climbing shoes are size 3, so I ordered a 4, and yet these were way too small and extremely narrow. He couldn't even put his foot in. The opening is not wide at all. I think they are a good quality, but the sizes are running at least two sizes smaller. A size 4 would probably fit a size normal size 2. I had to return them.

comfortable but runs way small.
really comfortable climbing shoes. a little disappointed that they run so small......i mean way small even for a climbing shoe. I ordered the 5 for my 11 year old that wears a 4.5 street shoe and they were almost too small for my 9 year old that wears a size 2 street shoe. this shoe brand though is the most comfortable I've tried. love them :)
