KidKraft Deluxe Wooden Easel with Chalkboard and Dry Erase Surfaces, Paper Roll and Paint Cups - Espresso, Gift for Ages 3+

I was worried when I ordered this because of the negative comments in other reviews, but they were flat out wrong! The wood for the easel is real, heavy wood (with the exception of the trays-which is thinner but still sturdy). It was easy to assemble (took me about 15 minutes). We gave this to my daughter for her 5th birthday over 8 months ago and it's still beautiful! I'm actually shopping for replacement paper rolls! If you follow the instructions for the chalkboard, you will have no issues! We use both white and colored chalk without issue. For the whiteboard, we have used the whiteboard crayons and markers without issue. My daughter uses the easel probably 10+ hours a week and it's just as beautiful as the day we gave it to her! She has a TON of markers, crayons, colored pencils, chalk, paints, brushes and stickers in the trays and the one between the sides is great for holding all of her coloring books and big papers! Tons of storage, functionality and she still loves using it almost everyday! Definitely worth the money!

If this was on wheels, it would be perfect! I am so pleased with this easel. It is slightly awkward to carry and move around for me, but that is the one and only issue I have with the product. It looks great and is standing up to my three kids better than I expected! The paper rolls easily, fit standard paper rolls (I bought the Melissa and Doug 2pk on Amazon, but it does come with one roll) and if you get plastic clips from the dollar store you can cut off a piece, clip it to the other side and use both sides at the same time for painting . I got small paint palettes at Hobby Lobby for $1 and my kids enjoy being able to create independently instead of fighting over one side where the paint cups are. It looks expensive and was easy to assemble.

This was a Christmas gift for our grandson. He loves art and has spent a great deal of time creating his masterpieces. The instructions are good. All pieces coded for easy assembly. We looked at all the available options but purchased the Kidkraft easel because we felt that it was sturdy and well built and would stand up well to an active toddler. The stand is adjustable so the easel easily "grows" with the child. We are very pleased with this produce and would recommend it to anyone considering buying a art easel. There are cheaper options but you get what you pay for.

Bought this product for my grand-daughter's 4th birthday and it was a HUGE hit! Assembly was fairly easy with the tool included and is adjustable for height as the child grows. The directions lacked somewhat, but just refer to the photo on the box--pretty self-explanatory.Grand-daughter LOVES the white board on one side (Crayola makes white-board crayons) and the chalk-board on the other allowing more than one child to use this easel simultaneously. Unit comes with two paint brush jars and a roll of art paper and has a nice deep shelf to store her art supplies. A quality product and worth the price.

This easel is absolutely both beautiful and functional. The espresso wood is a rich color that looks wonderful in our children's playroom. It's a very sturdy piece, and only took my husband (who is very handy) 10 minutes to assemble. My 2 year old is painting and coloring on there everyday. Make sure that you follow directions and color with a flat piece of chalk over the entire chalkboard at the beginning for easy writing...it seems to be working. We will use this easel for many years to come!!

the easel arrived a bit banged up and since it is cheap wood, it easily crushed corners etc.the chalk board is a fake one, so does not work very well at all, that was all my daughter wanted it for to play school teacher, and the fake chalk board is difficult to write on with the chalkit is not worth the price for this item, my friend bought a much less expensive one at IKEA. it has a real chalkboard for a lot less.once we put it together, was not worth taking it apart to return it.the only good part is that it looks nice.

I wanted to get my god-daughter an easel and went on the hunt. I found lots of cheaper, plastic alternatives. But, since I knew it would be sitting out in the living room, I really wanted to find a more attractive version that wouldn't look like a child's toy, but like a real piece of furniture. This one fit the bill perfectly! It was relatively easy to put together, thanks to my hubby, and when all together, looks very nice with all the other dark furniture. The function couldn't be better! I was afraid that the chalkboard would be cheap and hard to clean. Not so! She immediately started drawing on it, and erasing when she was finished with each drawing. I was pleasantly surprised by how easily the chalkboard erased and by how clear it was after each cleaning. The same with the white board side. The storage underneath is going to be really handy for storing extra markers, chalks, and finished drawings. And the trays on each side are fantastic.I have to admit, there were some bunged up edges on the wood and one of the water cups had a broken cap, I assume due to shipping, but these issues were not a big enough deal to detract from the all-around awesomeness of this easel. If you're looking for a nicer, longer-lasting alternative to the plastic easels out there, this is the one!

We've had this easel for about 6mo now and our girls (3.5 & 18mo) love it. It stays in our living room and since it's dark, it fits in with all the other furniture - as much as an art easel can! It's very sturdy since the tray in the bottom kind of locks it in place. Stability of an easel was my biggest concern since we had a 12mo old at the time we got it. I was worried about it getting knocked over or folding in on one of them. Both girls climb through it all the time, the 18mo likes to sit on the tray and I don't worry about it all. It's got some weight to it too so it's not that easy to move around - a good point I think!
