Apollo Applications Program Summary Report: AAP Spacecraft Design and Mission Plans, February, 1969

a look into a project that made a space station that started badley but became skylab
this book is a fascinating read about Nasa and what they had planned to do after Apollo. If they would have gone ahead with the wet workshop concept it would have been done at a great cost and the risks would have been akin to the Titanic. It would have taken at least three at best but most likely five manned flights before a crew could occupy the station to accomplish its goals.AAP became Skylab in 1970 and sending a fully equipped space station made a whole lot of sense and would enable a crew to get to work immediately.this book is a must read for anyone who wants to know the whole Skylab story

Limited but good.
This turned out to be less than I was hoping for, but that's not the fault of the book. The book is essentially a copy of a particular report by NASA (to Congress, presumably) on the current status and concept of the Apollo Applications Program (AAP), dated February 1969.Unfortunately for me, by that time, the AAP had been whittled down and whittled down until the only thing left was the space-station element (that eventually became Skylab). All the other missions originally in the APP - long stays on the Moon, "Taxi," "Truck," and "Surface Hab Module" versions of the Apollo LM, for example - had already been cancelled. This report does not contain any material on those earlier portions of the AAP. I had been looking for a look at ALL of the AAP concepts, in detail. It's probably on me for not realizing that this report does not contain that material. That said, it's an excellent look at the beginnings of the Skylab program, with lots of history and technical diagrams as the concept evolved. It's not a comprehensive look at the ENTIRE program, but rather a snapshot of the program that led to Skylab as it existed in early 1969. This is a summary report from NASA to (probably) Congress, and at only 66 pages, it's report sized.Enjoy it for what it is, and you'll likely be happy.

Great quality book
Great quality book. Not the normal re-scan. All pages clean and pictures clear. What a great topic too; the "wet" version of Skylab that could have been. I would definitely by reprints from this company Mooncat Collectables.
