Better than a bottle of powder in my mind
These things let you know what the wind is doing for the next 50 yards as long as you can still see it. which is great for knowing what thermals are doing. Item is small enough that it fits in most pouches on your bio harness I put a piece of goon tape around the outside to make sure it doesn’t pop open and to give me a little extra grip. I do wish that there was some sort of closure on top to keep moisture from getting in on rainy days, but that hasn’t been a big problem yet here in the PNW 👍🏻

Better than expected
Now i know when you go out hunting especially bow hunting tracking wind is VERY important. I used to use the small bottle of wind check, but always found it difficult to open the small flip top open, plus it disappears quickly. This wind checker is visible from a short distant and lets you know when wind direction changes

Great for playing the wind
I recently got into watching hunting videos and noticed a lot of people were using milkweed to see where the wind was blowing, so I had to get this. If you can't find milkweed in the wild and need some, this is a great option. This milkweed contained no seeds, which is nice. I would've rated this 5 stars, but I think the case could use a sliding cover or a cap to keep your milkweed dry if you're going out in wet conditions.

Windfloaters in Canine Scent Detection
I use the windfloaters for my canine nosework in setting and working scent detection hides. They are fabulous for this purpose. My students also love them for this. It helps them learn about air movement, which is essential for setting good hides and for learning to understand what your dog is doing in working out the scent puzzle.

Works better than talc.
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using talc as a wind indicator for 30 years, and it works, but this stuff is better. It lets you see where the. Wind is shifting and winding so you know when the deer are likely to catch your wind - talc only gives a short time frame of where the wind is. Highly recommend this (or a milkweed seed pack if you can find one :))

Don’t buy the orange bottle of powder
Simple and effective. I was going through 4 bottles of the powder a season and now I’m on track for one of these packs for two whole seasons of heavy use.Helps tell the full story of the wind and thermals with the stuff staying in the air for a long amount of time compared to powder.I wish they figured out a container that could be used with one hand

Great floaters, the lid sucks and doesnt work well
Great for checking thermals, only complaint is i constantly had to unscrew top and refeed through small hole in top. The floaters work perfect, the problem is with the container!
