BiotiqueBio Fruit Lip Balm, 12 gm

I only write reviews for things I love or things I hate, for things in the middle I don't tend to bother.... So when Amazon sent the standard email about reviewing my purchases I skipped this one!! I didn't love it, I didn't hate it because at least it made my lips soft and it smells great, but I wasn't going to give a review at all. Then this morning, as I was brushing my teeth, I suddenly noticed lighter lips, especially my top lip, I'm an African American woman, never smoked, in great health, but have noticed my lips darkening as I get older.... anyway I'm allergic to citrus so the option of lightening with lemon is out... anyway this morning, hello lighter lips! Now my lips look like they did when I was a teenager!!! I am pleasantly surprised. I only continued to use it because of the softening factor, I gave up on the lightening after 3 weeks since I had zero results.... but here it is 3 more weeks later and WOW!!!!! This will now be a must-have product. This actually works!!!!! I'm just shocked!!!! Try it, just give it at least 6 weeks!!! I use just a dab, twice a day, a little goes a long way! I truly hope this works for you too!!!! 💖

There are a lot of unhelpful reviews on this product (and many other products on Amazon) but here's my take on this lip balm and my advice to others. You guys have to understand that this is not a bleach, so you are not going to see results in a week or two or even three. We are talking about clearing up years of discoloration from the sun, hormones, hyperpigmentation, medications, etc. naturally; it will take some time to work. Being African American I've always had a discolored top lip but it wasn't until recently that I started looking for a possible solution. I think the only reason why I've been using this product for four months now is because I've seen results within the first month, the cherry-scented balm smells real nice, and it keeps my lips moisturized throughout the day and night. Will update after month 12 (typical time to even out skin tone) but if you are really looking for a solution and are patient, this balm is for you. If you are looking for a week or two solution, then I would keep it moving

Would not recommend. Very waxy. Dried lips out. Used several times per day for 2 months. No change! I'm a non smoker.My lips are light brown, completion is caramel. I wanted my lips to be closer to my complexion or perhaps even a little pinkish and i found sugar scrub and lemon juice the past 2 weeks far more effective. Certainly could not in good faith recommend this product. It has red dye so if your lips are already pinkish, it could make one think that it is effective...but it actually isn't.

I have had dark lips for as long as I can remember. My skin is light but lips were pretty much black my whole life and no amount of lemon juice or exfoliating helped. After about a month of using this balm, the insides of my lips became light pink. Then I started getting light pink dots on the lips which are spreading ever so slowly. After two months of using this, about 50% of my lips have become light pink. The pink dots are increasing in number and I can't wait for my whole lips to become one shade. The trick is to apply it everyday, as often as possible; definitely apply in the night on bare lips. Massage lips with it for couple of minutes and then apply a final layer. I was so happy with this product, I got one bottle for my mom as well!

I wanted a lip balm that lightens the pigment on the lips. The reviews and the product info said it did exactly that. I've been using it religiously, several times a day, since the end of June and there is no recognizable difference in my lip color. It is a nice balm, but there are lots of nice balms. I was looking for specifically what this product advertises and I have not seen any difference. Again, nice lip balm, but for $6-7 you can get several nice effective lip balms. Will I buy it again? No, but perhaps it might work in you. Didn't work for me.

I have used Biotique products before. They are generally natural and safe. This item contains an ingredient used widely in ayurveda for hyperpigmentation .After using for about ten days,I feel like I would not buy it again. I have been using another ayurvedic cream which makes my lips soft,pinkish and plump. I really wished this balm would take off the pigmentation on the corners of my lips, but it did not do a great job. I am not a fan of bees wax which is the base of this product. It makes my lips waxy and dry. This balm is better than no balm at all. Hence the three stars.

I noticed my lips being so dry and itchy in the past year and started getting darker. I tried everything under the sun to ease the dryness and nothing worked. This works! And it works instantly with dryness without having to reapply several times. And after a few days I'm already seeing change to the color and my natural color is coming back. Finally my lips are starting to feel like mine again!

I love it!!! It doesnt lighten ur lips but it does moisturize! Since its pretty cold now, my lips have been really chapped n i even got blisters from it being chapped n i was exfoliating pretty roughly so normal chap stick wasnt doing the job quick enough. After getting this balm, i just fell in love wit it! It smells good n keeps ur lips moisturized for a while... And even after its off it keeps ur lips nice and soft... But i wouldnt recommend it to lighten ur lips, but it could be becuz im a smoker and also it has been a few days ive been using it. And no its not tinted.. Kinda wish it was now. Cuz its amazing! N im giving it 5 star becuz i havent found anything as good as this as a moisturizer...
