Best all around loppers I have ever used!
I bought these along with the 32 inch Fiskars, and I love both of these loppers. The fiskars is slightly better for the 2 inch trees, but this one is just as good, and easier for everything smaller. These are built rugged like a tank, and my wife likes the handling of these a little bit better and easier than the slightly larger fiskars. If your clearing a lot of small trees and saplings, these are a must! Worth every penny, highly recommend. I’ve cut about 500 trees so far, keep them sprayed with silicone, and the cut through large branches like butter. You won’t be sorry, and these probably will last 20 years if you take care of them. Replacement blades available, but the one I have has not dulled a bit. Do it! Save time, effort and your back wielding a chain saw way less.

Worth every penny !
Very sturdy of excellent quality. Best investment ever .I have bought other brands being not effiicient. These shears cut the thickest branches like butter. In one day you can cut so many branches easily and fast saving time without much effort for women. I love, love them I know they will last for a long time!

Works perfectly!
My neighbor has a huge pecan tree that was overhanging my balcony making it nearly unusable. Branches that needed cutting were 1 inch thick. After struggling with a bypass lopping shear that would only cut partially. I bought this shear. It made quick and easy work of the job. Bypass version would let the blades split apart and leave only a partial cut. The anvil mechanism of these prevents that. High quality, very sharp. The extension mechanism works easily and effectively. Excellent tool! Now I can get to my bench and enjoy my balcony!

OK tool that will likely get the job done.
I'm a little disappointed with this tool. Based on other reviews, I was ready for some kind of SuperTool! Maybe unrealistic expectations - the tool performs adequately, not incredibly. It replaced a 40 year old Craftsman lopping shear which had parts wearing out. The bypass blades were not cutting the way they used to and branches were getting caught in the blades. The Tabor lopper cut fairly well but not as well as the Craftsman lopper when it was new. It's a bit on the heavy side - not bad for a lopper of this size but understand this is serious cutting. I found it could cut branches up to about 1 1/4 inch. It's a little cumbersome .... one has to jockey around other branches to get the jaws fully open to cut larger branches but that's not unique to this tool. Construction quality is robust and it should last a long time. Maybe I'm being a little hard on the Tabor. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars but that's not allowed. It's an adequate tool which will do what you need it to do - just don't look to be blown away.

Exceptional strength, and durability.
It is a good weight for almost anyone to use. The size and length are perfect and the grips are comfortable. It is exceptionally well-made and doable. I expect to be able to use this ratcheted looper for many years to come. I would highly recommend this product.

Easy to use. Easily cuts through 2-3 inch diameter dead branches. High branches can be reached.
I am a 78 year old, 5'1" woman that has been doing a lot of outdoor cleanup on the large garden area around our 2-level patio and on various areas on our 5 acres of property. This lopper has been invaluable for cutting dead branches from the many trees and bushes we have. Without the extension, the handles are 27", but can the extended to 40". To lengthen the handles, simply push a button and pull the handle out until it locks into a stop point. There are 6 stop points to lock the handles to the length you need up to 40". In the front of our house, we have 3 tall slender Arborvitae trees that have been let go for a number of years. Many of the lower branches of these trees had dried and were bare. Under and into the trees were a number of grape vines that had grow over 20 feet into the trees. There were also a couple of small trees that had grown from wayward seed that were about 6' tall. My project today was to remove all of the dead branches from the Arborvitae trees, remove the grape vines, and remove and kill the unwanted trees. I won't get into all of the grizzly details of what I did to kill the unwanted trees and grape vines to prevent new growth, but I will say that this lopper was extremely helpful in removing dead branches from the trees and the thick grape vines at the base plant. I was able to easily cut branches of over 2" many of which were well over my head. I could have used another lopper we have for lower branches, but with this lopper I could cut branches almost 4' over my head. When I decide to buy this lopper,, my husband told me about a lopper he has that has gears to make cutting easier. I don't think this lopper has gears, but I can't imagine cutting up to 2" branches being any easier. I found the size of this lopper easy to handle and the weight was not difficult to manage even when extended. Overall, I love the design of this lopper. UPDATE 09/17/25: I have been working all summer on our once overgrown garden areas that surround our large 2-level patio. Some areas were completely dug out removing all plants and replacing them with a variety of Hostas, Brunneras, a few bushes, and ground cover. This required digging in areas where there were trees roots of trees that had been removed long ago. This lopper has been invaluable for removing dead branches from trees and shrubs and also for cutting roots from old trees to facilitate planting of new plants. Other than my shovel, this lopper has been one of my most used tools. This project has taken me 2 summers to complete, and it is finally done other than the annual weeding, re-mulching, and maintenance. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Great branch trimmer!
The Tabor does an outstanding job on cutting the tree branches! For the 1-3/4"-2" branches it does take a little more effort. For opening the cutting heads for the thicker branches you don't have to open it as far as the other top rated trimmer. Overall I'm very happy with the Tabor tree trimmer!
