Kauffman's Fruit Farm Bulk Whole Oat Flour, 50 Lb. Bag

Seems to work and horses like it.

My wife uses oat flour for most of her baking, small bags at our local supermarket was getting expensive so we decided on the 50lb. bag. The pound for pound price was about half of what we were spending. She also said is has a very fine grind.

I first discovered oat flour on the King Arthur Flour website. I only bought it because they were having a special (their prices are high, and their shipping fees are exorbitant!, IMO). I added this - about 20% of the total weight - to the no-knead bread dough I make, and it gave the finished loaves an extra lightness, and perhaps a slightly better, finer texture. I've looked all over since then and can't find oat flour that isn't WAY too expensive for me (read $8.95 and up for 8 oz.!) I saw this bag and decided to try it. I can't tell any difference in the results of my baked goods; in my wallet, there's a HUMONGOUS difference! This comes from a small farm (Kauffman's Fruit Farm & Market), and there was a handwritten, initialed "Thank You!" on the packing slip - a small touch, perhaps, but one I appreciated. It was very well packaged - double bagged plus padded - and arrived days earlier than promised. They sell this and more on their website, including raw and other honeys, so I'll be checking that out. If you want to try adding a different flour to your baking, I definitely recommend trying this, especially at this amazing price!

I buy a lot on amazon and don't usually bother leaving reviews but this product really stood out to me! As an avid bodybuilder who has to eat 6 to 7 times a day I have tried many different oat powders. Since I drink so much of this stuff and the price for a 50lb bag absolutely crushed the next closest competitor I said what the hell and bought one. I thought hey even if it's just mediocre I can mix the oat powder in with other ingredients. I lucked out because since it came in I have been drinking it straight with water (which makes feeding time easier) and I have to say this is without a shadow of a doubt the cleanest, freshest and smoothest oat powder EVER! Props to Pike Global Foods! And not only was the product top notch I felt like the bag practically teleported to my apartment! Within 15 mintues of placing the order I received an email saying it had shipped and it arrived at my door the next day! This is without a doubt not popular with my mail lady but I could give this a solid 5 stars!! Happy customer!!

Very pleased with this oat flour. I bought the 50lb bag because I use this in my own DIY Soylent (food powder) recipe. The price was so good that I couldn't resist. I had been experimenting with different ingredients for the past 4 months, even getting my Soylent to taste like the (current) official v1.7, which was great, but was a pain to make because it demanded so many ingredients, and wasn't very cost effective. Using oat flour just made more practical sense because it was a whole food, and already had elements of carbs, protein, and fat built in, and so reduced the amount of ingredients I had to buy... as well as the overall price. This stuff is pretty smooth. I can only hope they stay in business for as long as I stay on this Soylent kick... which I don't see ending anytime soon, because A) it's cheap B) I'm lazy C) meets my nutritional requirements D) I like not having to worry about the logistics of figuring out where to go for food and the cost of it.

Good flour but the price went from 83 dollars to 118 dollar overnight. What the heck!!!!!

I have a specific and popular recipe that uses oat flour and it is not as good as any other flour - this source is more cost-effective than my local sources or making it myself. This is my third or fourth order - happy every time!

This is a great buy. I eat a cup per day in my morning shake, so this bag lasted me for almost 5 months without going bad. The only precaution I took was too transfer the flour into a secondary 1 gallon bag; that way I can open the 50lb bag as little as possible to keep oxygen out.
