400g Cornish Beef Pasty - right size, look, smell when-cooked, taste and 100% satisfied. Want more.
My only connection with anyone in the supply chain is my childhood living in Redruth and Cornwall. I received my order on morning of 10th July in perfect condition. The order on Amazon was placed later on 8th July. So very near PRIME delivery schedules. I cooked 2 pasties and then ate both of them because the smell reminded me of long ago home cooking by my mother and grandmother in Redruth. They too cooked sufficient for stocking their chest freezer. Tasted the same whether fresh or re-cooked/heated in the oven. These smell, look and taste the same after cooking from frozen. Make sure you pre-heat your oven as guided, as otherwise cooking temperature time will be insufficient too cook the centre of the dense frozen filling. These are from Prima Bakeries in Redruth (historic county town of Cornwall) and the skirt beef pasties are entirely authentic. All beef and veg is cut to the same size to ensure even distribution of nutriants. These Prima pasties were packed full and firm throughout and were eaten from the hand as was the worker's necessity (crust edges can be discarded). There were always two for me when visiting my mums. I'm very tall for a Redruth born Cornishman and normally eat a 800g meal equivalent, once a day. The ratio of internal ingedients to pastry crust may alter on size of pasty. I prefer a large pasty for taste. After first cooking, they can be cut in half for sharing or saved in the fridge for later as cold. These 400g Prima pasties were very satisfying in all ways. The recipe is the same as I remember, give or take a little bit of swede or onion. My whole family had their own make-to-order preferences on bake day - with pastry letters on top to signify ownership. Pepper and swede gives the illusion of warmth in very cold working conditions and when the food has to be eaten cold. So this still works if eaten cold. Traditionally an outdoor, down-mine, hard working 'man's', re-invigorating lunch (where no shops or cafes were readily available at place of work). A wonderful auhentic product, identical to the traditional recipe and purpose that I have known for the last 65 post infant years. It comes with a national delivery service which beats driving across the country to Redruth environs to eat something very close to mum's very own cooking. All round, sugar-free and tasty nourishment, instant energy and early muscle repair after physical work/exercise - and also a very good all-round eating experience for anyone to relax with.

A service worth its weight in gold, particularly in these unprecedented times.
I don’t usually write reviews, but on this occasion felt I needed to. My family were gutted when the local pasty shop closed for the pandemic. We wanted to buy frozen pasties but they only offered cooked ones and they were rather expensive. Randomly my search took me to Amazon and Prima.I ordered my 12 pasties in the afternoon, the very next morning they arrived; extremely well packaged (bearing in mind also that it’s free delivery) and still frozen. Cooked a few up for tea that night and all I can say is... WOW! So much flavour, the size is perfect, the quality of the ingredients used is evident. Beautiful pasties. I can’t recommend enough 😀

Too many onions
The pasty was very large indeed, which is good as I have a big appetite. There wasn't a great deal of meat in it, which again is good as far as I am concerned. It was in small but somewhat tough and at times grisly pieces, but had a good flavour.Instead of a nice lot of vegetables, the pasty contained rather a lot of onions. The flavour of the filling was nice, but the onions were overbearing. I don't know if this is how a traditional pasty is supposed to be, but I would have preferred to find more potatoes and swede inside.A few pasties later... the pasties are actually very good. I think I was unlucky and got a dodgy pasty full of onions the first time round.

OUTSTANDING--- OUTSTANDING
Arrived on time, securely packed and still frozen. These are PROPER CORNISH PASTIES. The salt/pepper is just right. Don't forget tomato sauce. Microwave from cooked and cooled is OK but better straight from the oven. Better to be hungry if you tackle a 450 gm, they a certainly a meal! If you like PROPER CORNISH PASTIES these are the ones. Cost?----they are worth it.----- OUTSTANDING!
