Kauffman's Fruit Farm Bulk Whole Oat Flour For Baking, 4.5 Lb. Bag

I first discovered oat flour on the King Arthur Flour website. I only bought it because they were having a special (their prices are high, and their shipping fees are exorbitant!, IMO). I added this - about 20% of the total weight - to the no-knead bread dough I make, and it gave the finished loaves an extra lightness, and perhaps a slightly better, finer texture. I've looked all over since then and can't find oat flour that isn't WAY too expensive for me (read $8.95 and up for 8 oz.!) I saw this bag and decided to try it. I can't tell any difference in the results of my baked goods; in my wallet, there's a HUMONGOUS difference! This comes from a small farm (Kauffman's Fruit Farm & Market), and there was a handwritten, initialed "Thank You!" on the packing slip - a small touch, perhaps, but one I appreciated. It was very well packaged - double bagged plus padded - and arrived days earlier than promised. They sell this and more on their website, including raw and other honeys, so I'll be checking that out. If you want to try adding a different flour to your baking, I definitely recommend trying this, especially at this amazing price!

These are finely ground oats that work great as a flour substitute. I use it to make pancakes and they are delicious. I’ve also used them to coat chicken and make boneless chicken wings. They come out nice and crunchy. The vendor even sent me a little note thanking me for my purchase. I would highly recommend this oat flour.

The toasted oat flavor didn't work for my application. I was looking for something more neutral for shakes. But I can imagine that this flour would work well for other kinds of uses, like cookies or bread, where you're going to be baking it anyway. (Edit: I tried this oat flour in cookies, and the flavor was great in that context, so I'm raising my rating).

I got hooked on oat flour when I had to go gluten free awhile back. Since then I typically cut regular unbleached flour with oat for texture, flavor, and health benefits. This four doesn't disappoint. It's a bit dense but I find it to be great in baked goods. This is my second time buying.

I have a specific and popular recipe that uses oat flour and it is not as good as any other flour - this source is more cost-effective than my local sources or making it myself. This is my third or fourth order - happy every time!

Great product. My issue - i open the packaging and theres a mini bible that comes out. I dont understand the Christian need to shove their religion down everyones throat, but I was instantly turned off to this. I will still use the product as my dogs need the flower for their treats, but I will not be purchasing again. A note to the business, please leave your religion out of sales. Thanks.

I love this and order it every month. Its very tasty... arrives quickly and is the beat deal for quality that i have found.

Nice fine grind, not quite as flavorful as another brand we have used. Would be nice to know whether or not it is gluten free. Might buy again as it is not as serious an issue for us as it is for some folks.
