NIU Niutek 3.5D - Unlocked Dual SIM Android Smartphone (Blue)

I bought this cell phone mainly as a back-up phone. I read the description and technical specifications on this device and it did convince me to buy it.Mind you, it's the very first time I own a Niutek cell phone, and this is my experience so far.I got the product yesterday 7-09-2014.It came in original box and the seller sent it inside this NIU-branded bag, -that was a nice touch from the seller-Facts.-*The device is bigger than expected and came with stardard accessories: headset, charger adapter and USB cable and a battery [of course].The back cover opens easily in order to place the SIM card, the microSD card and the battery.*As described the cell phone runs Android Jelly Bean and since I was a previous user of Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich versions it was not difficult at all to adapt to the UI which is not that different from the previous versions; just a few improvements that makes the Android experience better and nicer.The cell phone is unlocked and I placed two SIM cards from different carriers Movistar and Telcel, both of them were recognized immediately and works excellent.As any Android device, the user account can be configured without any problem.I downloaded a few apps from Play Store and most of them were stored in the microSD card, However, part of the internal memory is still used by this same applications. My recommendation, if your plan to download.. let's say an average of 25 to 35 apps, this is not the cell phone you need.The display is good, bright and sharp, the screen is quite responsive, enough to navigate without any problems. The virtual keyboard is quite responsive as well and it does have the swype feature totally integrated.The speaker is louder than any other cell phone I've owned before. Believe me! it is! I actually had to set-up all sounds (ring tones, alarm, notifications, etc) to the lowest level and still it's a little bit noisy to me.The Cameras.- a front facing VGA resolution that will be of help on video calls, and a 2 mpx rear camera... well I've never thought a cell phone shall substitute a DSLR camera or camcorder. The images have the expected/standard 2 mpx/ VGA good-medium to low quality.The LED flash does the job and perhaps because the limited megapixels, it does not have fancy features as other cell phone devices, meaning: panorma, macro, and stuff.Phone calls, text message aka sms, mms, can be made, sent, received without issues. I was told that the voice during phone calls is clear. Note: I noticed this device does not have a notificaion light as may other devices have. If you set up the silence mode, the only way you get information for missing calls, text messages, incoming e-mail, etc. is by turning on the screen.Headset (handsfree) works well on phone calls and listening to music and radio.Battery life, I think it may last for three days with medium usage of the device [as I mentioned above this is a back-up phone]I give a reserved 5 stars because the phone does the job... yet it should have a notification light blinking on the screen.
