Good quality, good photos, not perfect for video
It's a very affordable lens with extremely high quality for its price. The bokeh is huge, making it a 10/10 lens for photos considering the cost—nothing bad to say in that regard. However, it makes some noise when focusing—not very loud, but sometimes noticeable in recordings. So, I wouldn’t highly recommend it for video. Still, I’m not lowering the rating for this because I don’t think it’s designed for that purpose, but I wanted to mention it so you’re aware.

I love this❤️
This Sony lens has exceeded my expectations. The image quality is impressive, with vibrant colors and exceptional sharpness. Perfect for professional photography or amateurs looking to take their photos to the next level. In addition, the focus is fast and precise, which makes it ideal for capturing moments in motion without losing detail.

You cant beat this lens for the price! small, lightweight and sharp! f1.8 does great in the low light and creating that nice bokeh that people love. 10/10

Nice lens on a budget
This is a great budget lens.I wound up returning because for the price of the a6700 is purchased, I decided to go with a lumix s5ii (bout a hundred bucks more for full frame, better lowlight, 6k).Unfortunately I'm stuck in a long drawn out amazon return, before I can buy the s5ii.

Almost Perfect!
So many know this is a very inexpensive nifty fifty and those who have it also know it is a pretty awesome lens, even though it is all plastic and not very robust. The only complaint I have is there is no MF/AF switch on the side like most of he other lenses, even the less expensive ones. This is not a big issue though because I have a custom button dedicated on my camera to switch from manual to AF so not a big deal but for those who would rather save their custom buttons for other things it is kind of a little bit frustrating. With that said, no other complaints. The image quality, color, vignette, chromatic aberration, lens flare, and distortions are all well controlled for such an inexpensive lens. The most impressive attribute is the autofocus. Super fast and accurate. It is not an all weather lens though so I will not use it in the rain, but that is normal for inexpensive lenses. If you absolutely need a 50mm with good weather seals you need to step up to the 1.4 version or go with a third party lens, which is substantially more expensive. Even good third party 50mm f1.4s are pretty pricy but for some it is worth it for the type of work they do (weddings/landscapes). Of course if you are a full time photographer and get paid for what you do, you will want the best glass anyway and it is part of your business model.

Decent image quality and focus speed results in a decent value lens!
This lens is pretty similar to the Canon 50mm f1.4. It focuses at about the same speed, and it the noise it makes while focusing is similar.Image quality is good enough. It's sharp, contrasty, flare isn't terrible and I haven't had any significant issues with fringing or CA.On an A7 iii it focuses in about 1 second and does surprisingly well in low light. Yes it does make noise when focusing and it seems like it over shoots a bit and then acquires focus. I haven't had any issues with it missing focus.Overall this is a decent lens when you consider the price. It is comparable with similar offerings from Canon.

Amazing for the price!
Ran home from work just to try this lense. I have many lenses but the 70-200mm never leaves my camera but I wanted something small to do portraits. It’s not as fast but does amazing. A little noisy but I don’t mind. I snapped a quick picture of my dog and it did great on low light with a moving pup. Captured her amazing colors really nicely. It is super light. Mostly soft material. Plastic compared to my other Sony/Tamron lenses but you get what you pay for. For the price, can’t beat it!

Good lens. I keep this one on my Sony 6400 mirrorless camera. It’s my general go to lens.
