Revised review: Bulbs are working great
I had to withdraw the negative review because, when I went to replace the non-functioning bulb, it lit up. It was apparently loose in its socket. It's working fine and I now have 4 spares. Yes, I went ahead and ordered a 4-pack to replace the one I thought was bad. So I do recommend these bulbs.. I'm using these outdoors in Minnesota - a tough application for any bulb. They are in four sconces across the front of the house. They are normally white, but I will play with color combinations over the holidays. Green and red for Christmas, etc.(original review) Setup was OK, and it's fun to play with color settings, etc. But with less than 2 months of use, one of four bulbs has died. I have to buy a single to replace it, or shelve all the rest. This is disappointing.

Frustrated. Do not throw these bulbs away.
Do not throw these bulbs away. I am just as frustrated as you are with these bulbs working, then not working.Alright, Let see if I can you help you with getting them set up.IssueBulbs stopped connecting or cannot connect to your network.Things to consider;(1) If you have upgraded your modem from 2.4G to 5.0G Network(2) These bulbs connect on 2.4G NetworkResolve(1). Install Smart Life app / or Avatar Light bulb App on your phone.(2). If you have the Smart Life or Avatar app on your phone, delete or uninstall all of the previous bulbs that were previously connected.(3). Call your Internet / Modem provider and ask them to set up a second guest network on your modem. Most providers will set you up a second guest network for free. Make sure that the second guest network is set as 2.4G network. Create a new password for the new network.(4). Open your cell phone and find the new Wifi Network on phone and connect to it. You should now have a 5G and 2.4g network available to switch back and forth between as needed.(5). Now open the smart life / avatar app. Reset your light bulbs and follow connection instructions.(6). After reconnecting all of your devices, your can open up your Wifi settings on your phone and reconnect to your original 5G Wifi network. These bulbs will on the 5g network once connected.(7) Use the new network to connect any other old devices you might have that still require 2.4g to connect.Additional info that may be helpful to know. The Difference between a 2.4G network and a 5g network(1) 2.4G is Slower than 5G(2) 5G is faster but not as stable as 2.4G(3) 2.4G has the ability to travel through walls and obstacles better than 5G(4) 2.4G travels father in distance than 5GHope this was helpful.SignedOnce Frustrated Smart Bulb Consumer.

Good product with exceptional value
First off, they feel very solid and far from cheap. While they do work well, they do have a very specific setup process that may be a bit hard for some. For me, setup is easy but very time consuming. Once the bulb is setup, all you need to do add device in alexa and assign group. From that point on, its all fun. Just know you might annoy someone if using alexa to change the light settings every second. In alexa you have 16 colors you can set with 100 levels of brightness which is nice and in the smart life app you have scene settings that can liven a party. From construction to convenience, these lights were well worth the purchase. The only remaining question is how long will they last?

Great wifi smart bulb. We will be buying more.
These do what you need them to, and they do it well. You can set schedules, use voice commands all with your Alexa or Google home speakers. No hub required. The brightness in the rgb mode is not very bright but the colors are nice. When I bought these they were the best bang for my buck at around $8/bulb, much better than Phillips.

Not energy efficient! Emits as much heat from base as 100W bulb! Defeats purpose of LEDs!
Really bad!!! Just another not-ready-for-primetime product. This product should be taken off the site.In addition to wasting energy as heat, like a conventional incandescent bulb (through the base), there are other problems:Web description is misleading.1 - Product is NOT compatible with Smart Life app.2 - There is no access to stated millions of colors, only those in your smart home app.3 - Avatar product app does not add functionality. Since there is another breach at least every week, I don't want to put my info on any additional sites or installing any new apps.Product issues:1 - You can't set up some devices after outage, even with device and phone right next to router, and even with Avatar app.2 - The devices don't self-identify. The app lists too many possible devices within a category, and they are ambiguous. How does the user know if the device is Wi-Fi, BLE, or both? Trial and error? No thanks!!3 - The English translation Avatar app is fair. There are some strange sentence structures, non-existent words, and weird language usage: How does a device "breathe"?!?!4 - There are no manual controls. My internet service went out in storm, and I could not turn lights on with smart speaker.
