Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Third Edition (Dover Books on Computer Science)

It has been a few years since I've explored and implemented AI in my application heuristics. What I particularly enjoyed about this book was that it addressed the fundamental CS theory behind many of the topics. To be honest, I despised my CS theory courses back in college. But, over the past 30 years of architecting and designing software solutions, a good grasp of theory is what made my career blossom. In addition to theory, the subject of appropriate and practical use of AI for various problem is well addressed. Jackson puts forth a book that truly caters to those that really want to understand AI, its history, and what makes it perform.

It is always important to have multiple sources of a significant and challenging topic; and thus "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Third Edition" provides another valuable gateway to the fundamental topics and principles of one of the most far-reaching endeavors in science and technology: understanding high-level thinking, carried out in machines.

Completly obsosete book. It is useless. It is relevant only to the state of AI research in the 60 and 70 . I am not joking. Shame on the publishing house to sell this on the hype of AI this days!

Great update on the fundamentals of AI. With a read for anyone peeking into the space or wanting to refresh on what is available as state of the art.
