Enterprise Network Security Appliance Review: Fantastic. Simple to set up and use - Fantastic. Simple to set up and use. We replaced a SonicWall and it does everything that did except.... it is EASY to setup and maintain. Love it! Review: 3 major limitations if you have backup internet or VPN users - We have been testing the mx as a possible replacement for approx. 120 ASA 5505/06 etc for all our clients - The system is good and there are a lot of Pro's however be very aware of the following three points. 1. The MX VPN client does not push the required routes for split tunneling to the client when using L2TP - meaning, once connected, which is easy to set up you have to go through the meraki internet connection. The workaround is to add a static route using DOS on the client. Every other Firewall we've tested has had this feature for 10 years 2. The backup wireless connection 3G/4G cannot have any NAT rules assigned to it so it works for outbound internet traffic only and cannot be used a true backup link 3. The secondary backup port has sever limitations on what you can do with inbound traffic once failed over - many to one PAT is only available on the interface IP but not on 1-1 nat. So, if you have a mail server for example on internet one you cannot route port 25 to the same IP once failed over. We had great hopes for the MX but unfortunately these few cons are major when it comes to trying to support multiple. I may also note that every other manufacturer has had these features for long time so...I hope they get it sorted out soon. For now its pretty good if you have simple environment but if you have true backup internet or many users connecting via VPN - its a no -go.

Beware the 2-day shipping
Don't know if this is just a misconfiguraiton or something more nefarious. but when i added 2 day shipping it tacked on an extra 400 bucks. But regardless it looks shady
