Fabulous hardware, disgusting suftware
This clock has fabulous hardware. It's five star. My only hardware gripe is that the display is squished. The 4 numbers are very large and nicely spaced, but the ":" is squished between the hours and minutes with no extra space, so if your eye sight is bad the hour digit and the first minute digit merge with the ":" into a big blob. An extra 1/4 inch of space would have solved this. Also the color of the display is "daylight" white. For night time comfort it should be red, as used by all other clocks of this type. I fixed this by placing a thin red plastic sheet cut to fit neatly over the display. Also the USB power feed plugs in with a round plug. It should be a standard small USB so you can use any standard USB cable. You see all those 5 star reviews because people write the review the day they get the clock. I've used it a for a few months. Again, the hardware is five star and a good unit like this could sell for twice the price.BUT the software is disgusting. First of all you don't get a manual for this rather complex clock. You get a single sheet written by someone who doesn’t speak English. There is a lot of stuff in the Amazon description and Q&A that does not correspond to what my version of the clock does and is not covered on the instruction sheet. I was sold an "upgraded" version but I don't think I got one. Judging by other conflicting reviews and Q&A's there must be several versions of this clock being shipped. Some specifics:The 4-AAA battery bay is strange. The label says don't use this, it's for testing -- huh? I Found the clock runs fine, in low display mode, on four rechargeable AAA's for about a month and then becomes dim for another week or so. When you plug it back in the batteries recharge a bit and are again good for a few days. Apparently this hardware was designed for something else that needed the batteries and has been repurposed as a bedside clock.Setting up the clock is quite complex - you need to follow the instructions. And it's all unnecessary. The complexity is because they make you set the date so that they can identify weekend days so you can use the skip weekend days alarm feature. That's ridiculous: First because all they needed to do is have you identify the day of the week when you set it all up, not the actual date. Second, anyone needing better control of an alarm clock will use a smart phone, not this clock. A smart phone alarm is trivial to set up and much more versatile. Third I doubt they were smart enough to account for leap year properly, especially on those divisible by 4 years that are the exception to the general leap year rule, the Gregorian vs Julian rule. Hope they don't try to do daylight savings adjustment!Another problem is the brightness. You have 3 settings, but it automatically switches to super bright at 7 AM! What if you don't need to get up at 7 AM? And it automatically goes dim at 6 PM. But not always. The instruction sheet tells you nothing about this. If they want to do this they need to have a room brightness sensor. In a Q&A The seller said something about a tap feature for brightness control. My unit does not respond as they described. Even the dim setting is rather bright, but the high ("L-3") is ridiculously bright. Ideally they need to have a twist knob to set brightness from off to real bright. The alarm setting process is way to complex. They have three alarms, one of which can be set to weekdays only. As mentioned above this is all totally unnecessary. And you'll never figure it out without the instruction sheet. It has a snooze feature, but again it's not obvious how to use it. There is no on/off or snooze button. And alarm should have some volume control.

Excellent Budget Alarm Clock
This is a great alarm clock for people who need an alarm clock that isn't twenty other things and reports your sleep cycle to the NSA or whatever. The adjustable brightness' three settings are: Low- enough to not cause painful glare when you're waking up, Medium- bright enough for every day use, and High- you can see it from across the room in bright daylight if you want to set it up somewhere visible. You can set three alarms, and the one-tap snooze feature means you can get an extra 10 minutes if you don't like getting up right away. The alarm itself is a fairly loud repeating ring, which will definitely wake you up. I would advise testing having the alarm at different distances from your head to find a comfortable volume level. The wooden casing feels nice, and the buttons to activate snooze are on the back of the clock, which means you can't just keep hitting it reflexively, an excellent design choice. There are a few improvements I would recommend. The "Weekday Only" feature is applied for all three alarms at once, so you can't set a different weekday and weekend wake-up time. I would prefer to have some control of the volume, besides moving the alarm further away.Overall, if you're looking for a solid, cost effective alarm clock, I would recommend this one.

Excellent choice if you are just wanting a great LED clock
Was looking for an LED clock for my living room. Perfect size LED number size ( approx. 1 1/4" tall ). Though it is an alarm clock all buttons are in the back which makes it a perfect presentation as just an led clock for living room. Has a clean contemporary look to it. I also like the fact that on the lowest illumination setting the leds give off a very light blue color tone. Any of the brighter sttings and the leds just look white. Have had a little over a month and though the clock is not radio controlled to keep it perfectly accurate it keeps relatively ggod time. In 30 days it gained approximately 5 seconds - not bad. All in all for the function of just a nice looking led clock that keeps reasonably good time it is a great choice. The ONLY - ONLY changes I would recommend would be to make it available with radio controlled clock ( I would be happy to pay extra for that feature ) and also make available with true blue leds.

If its about the price.
Brightness has 3 settings, all are clear and easy to see. It takes a few times to get use to the buttons on the back to set, turn on and off each of it's 3 alarms. You have to go through all the screens just to change one alarm. The alarm sound is set and can not be turned up or down. This part could be a problem if your older like I am and already using hearing aids. The seller was quick to fill and get the order to me, then follow up with a letter. The seller would be nice to do business with again, but I will do more research next time I buy an alarm clock. But for the price, it's not a bad deal.

Large and Bright!
This clock is very basic, but has a nice sleek look to it. It was very easy to set up the time, brightness, and alarms. The buzzing noise is not super annoying like some clocks so you won't be as jarred in the early morning. It is easy to see from across the room due to the size and the ability to change brightness. My only complaint is I did go to snooze and unintentionally shut it off. Would be nice if it had buttons specifically for snooze instead of the one click or two click setting it has.

Great customer service
I have had the digital clock for over one month now. It is simple and easy to use. Everything works well and it does what I need.A piece of the charging cord snapped off the day I got it, but the seller provided me with a new cord for no charge in just a couple of days after. Very appreciated!I am giving the overall product a four-star rating because the lowest brightness level on the clock is too bright for my personal preference.
