Great for impulse control and anger management! Big hit with students 5th -7th grade.
My students played this game for the first few times without the distraction cards. When they requested to use the distraction cards, I added them in. The kids had as much fun being the distraction as completing the task cards. It gave them a safe place to practice their impulse control skills and was able to tie into anger management skills to use in the classroom and their daily lives.

As a Therapist...
...I can see how this game will be helpful in treatment. However, I'm conflicted on the quality of some of the pieces. First...this isn't a board game of any sort....it's a behavior modification card game. Inside the small 6x9ish box that I received today, there are a few pieces of paper printed with rules, guidelines, and explanation of behavior modification; the cooperation sheet is in bright colors and of better quality than the explanation sheets, but still flimsy. Also included are the packs of question cards that are high quality and look like they will hold up well to impulsive children using them in therapy. The real disappointment are the puzzle pieces, tokens, and word cards included in a small sandwich baggie. These pieces feel like they were made of poster board paper and will most likely not hold up over time; some of the puzzle pieces were bent on the edges. The questions on the cards cover a good range...can use this with younger clients up to older teens...and it will be good for practicing focus and concentration.

school counseling tool
This is not an elaborate or fancy game, but is a good tool for the school counseling tool box. It is a good way to practice focus with the kids while there are distractions. It is a great way to discuss the topic when the experience is fresh and relate it to the classroom or life in general.

The clients like using the activity as one modality for play therapy, easy to travel due to the size.
Exactly what I needed for my clients that I see
