Some great recipes.
This book has some great recipes. After my husband’s heart attack we had to change our diet to a low salt and low fat one. Have found several great recipes in this book that have become favorites.

Wonderful!!
Excellent book. After my better half had a heart attack we needed to make some big changes. Although we had been eating low-fat we hadn't been eating low sodium This is just the ticket. No pictures but the recipes are easy to follow and really very yummy. The shrimp and spinach pasta was light and delicious and the chicken salad recipe is our new FAVORITE!! If you need make healthy changes, this is an excellent book to have. On a side note, just eating meals from this book and adhering to the portion sizes, we have both lost 5 lbs in a month...we haven't even tried. We're just sticking to the diet to live. Highly recommend this book. I haven't tried a recipe yet that wasn't delicious!!! This book includes recipes for meals as well as sauces, salad dressings, etc. Making from scratch is a bit more time consuming but of course, totally worth it when you consider the other option. Happy eating everybody!!

It is great for low salt but I also need low protein, low potassium information/recipes. There are several recipes that I will definitely use but not all of them are helpful.

The BEST recipe book for heart-healthy eating. Fairly Pritikin-friendly.
For someone who has heart issues and wants to eat healthier, this is the recipe book for him/her. I looked high and low for a recipe book that falls closely in line with the Pritikin eating plan (no added salt or fat, and no sugar). This came closest for fitting that bill. I did a little tweaking on some of the recipes (leaving out the salt and cutting down more on the fat - I use canola Spray). This book was even better than the newer versions of heart-healthy cookbooks. Reasonably priced and many good recipes. I haven't used LOTS of them, but only because we were in a cooking class at the heart hospital and got lots of recipes from there. The recipes that I have used, however, are so good! I highly recommend it.

Wonderful Cookbook
My mother was recently hospitalized with heart failure, and is now limited to 2000mg/day of sodium. Having eschewed processed foods many years ago - I rarely buy can, box, or bag - I was absolutely stunned by the amount of sodium in nearly everything at the grocery as I was grasping for meal ideas for her (and her traditional Southern salt/pepper taste buds.) I've now made numerous items from this cookbook for her, and she has loved every dish. Try the pork loin with apple dressing, it's worthy for Sunday company. The meat loaf is also incredible.Additional tips: Invest in many, varied spices and fresh herbs, a good balsamic vinegar, and keep a bowl of fresh lemons on the table. There IS life after salt!

Excellent condition and a real bargain at just over $12.00 U.S.
Wish I had known only photos were on the jacket cover, front and back. I suppose I should have asked or paid attention to the details.Still, I will keep it because, as noted, it is a real bargain at just over $12.00.

great recipes!
Have found the recipes to be tasty, not bland. Easy to follow recipes, would have most ingredients at home. Great working with other spices and seasonings. Would recommend.
