Calculated Industries 5022-2 Armadillo Case - Black/Gray

A couple of years ago I purchased my CI 4065 (Construction Master Pro) and, while nothing in life is perfect, I LOVE this tool and keep it next to me in my metal and wood shops at all times (I wish they would come out with a Machinist' specific version!). That said, I always hated the design of the cover. It does a good job protecting the calculator, but is a pain to remove, and use as intended. It's design seems to have been an after thought and a poor attempt at protecting the investment without actually having to spend money on the feature.When the Armadillo case came to my attention, I looked around the web and found mixed reviews. Still, I liked the idea of an integrated protection system which did not require the removal and possible loss of a second piece.Fast forward to the day it arrives. I found that at least with the 4065 (and I am sure any of CI's products with the same form factor), the installation was easy, yet tight. A perfect fit With one hand, the cover can be flipped open, using one's thumb, the cover flips over and lays flat against the back and the unit can ALMOST be operated with one hand. The case offers a solid grip, no rattling around--in short, the two pieces mate together as I had hoped and expected. The case itself gives the impression of being solid, hard and able to take abuse (no, it is not water proof).So far, only two complaints:1) no access to the cheat sheet "booklet" which hides in the back of the calculator. Believe me, once you put the calculator in the case, you will not want to remove it casually.2) The case should really be offered as standard equipment with the calculator. Customers who are up for spending the money on a high end, specialized calculator such as this, will not be opposed to spending a few extra bucks for the comfort and peace of mind this case offers by protecting their investment.Dan in Pine, CO

I bought a Construction Master 5 and didn't know that there was a case made for it. I use my Construction Master often and consistently and it's good to know that I can keep it in my toolbag and it still looks as new as when I bought it.

Exactly what you pay for. The green case shows up nice on the jobsite- no hardship trying to find it amongst the other tools.Protects your calculator very well- most of my stuff ends up covered in sawdust at the end of the day but my calculator still looks new.

First of all, don't compare this case to a high tech "Otterbox style" phone case, or you will be disappointed. This case is everything the calculator needs to be protected from damage and also provides you with a means of holding it comfortably and propping it on a surface for ease of use. The quality is good and it does what it says. Don't buy it if you are hoping for one of those cheap custom colors or designer logo type cases you can buy for cell phone at a mall kiosk. I've had mine on my calculator since I bought both 6-7 months now and it still holds up like the day I ordered it. Hope this helps.

It’s perfect 100% Quality.

This case will not work with the construction master 5 without modifying the case. I cut the ribs out or the case with diagonal cutters. Removing the ribs provided enough room and the fit is close enough to perfect. Love the case / calculator combo

Love the fact it's different than all the black covers at work. Fit perfect.

It was alright buy.... unlike my last yellow armadillo case which fit perfectly this one does not.... the previous reviews say to cut tabs from the inside, but still u cannot close the lid. Good for in an office but not outside on the job site
