Used successfully to remove Henna
My hair is naturally grey, mostly brilliant white at the front, with more peppery brown underneath, at the back. The first photo shows my hair after four years of fortnightly henna: a few weeks of Lush henna, with a bit of indigo that shows up in the ends, followed by years of supposedly pure, organic henna. That was fine until batches of it contained PPD, which I am allergic to, the reason I started using henna in the first place. After that, I started getting sensitivity to henna that actually was pure, so I had to stop using it.I read all the press which says you can't strip henna, you have to cut it off, and threatened melting hair. I thought, if I’ve got to cut it off anyway, I might as well see if I can strip it - if it’s a disaster, I’ll cut it off.I’ve used Colour B4 on dark hair in the past, which left my hair brilliant orange, so I thought I would try Scott Cornwall products this time.I did two strand tests, leaving the product on for 2 hours, the maximum active time mentioned on the boxes. The Declour Remover (red box) did nothing at all, but the Decolour Stripper (blue box) took the strand to about 2/3 of the way between 10/03 and 10/04 on the Koleston Perfect colour chart. So I tried a skin patch test and got no reaction and decided to go ahead with the Decolour Stripper. The way I did it wasn’t ideal, because I didn’t use enough at first and left it on too long. So my recommendation, if you are going to try it, is to use two boxes unless your hair is very short, and to do a strand test at the same time, so that you can see exactly what the colour has become from the strand and don’t need to mess about uncovering and checking your head.Anyway, I can’t show you exactly what my hair looked like afterwards, because I used toner on it straight away, so my after picture has a bit more yellow in it (Wella Gold toner) than it had immediately after stripping. But it gives you an idea.I wouldn’t dare use peroxide on my hair, in case it really does melt! but I’m now very happy playing about with different semi permanent toners, which give me highlights and a slightly different colour every wash. I wish I had tried it years ago!

Did not work - don't waste your money
I have been colouring my hair for years and have used a wide range of brands. I never had a problem until I used Age Perfect for the first time. The colour I chose was warm golden brown and the colour shown on the pack looked attractive and very similar to previous colours I have used. However my hair did not turn out to be "warm golden brown". The colour I got was very dark - almost black. My hair is long and my fringe and around my hairline turned out slightly lighter but the rest, especially the ends were, as I have said, almost black. Other than get my hair cut short, I didn't know what to do. I tried using a lighter colour but this had no effect. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. It was quite a lengthy, laborious process which I followed to the letter and I left the product on for the maximum time stated. It had no effect whatsoever! My fringe and my hairline which have most grey, remained grey with bright ginger ends. It looked horrendous and the rest of my hair was as dark as ever. I momentarily thought about buying another pack and trying again but the first application had so little effect that I did not feel that it was worth trying it. I have to wait at least 7 days before colouring my hair again and during that period I have to wash my hair at least 3 times. I am currently going through this process. In the meantime I am wearing my hair in a tight bun and I am also wearing a broad hairband. I am spraying my fringe and hairline with Root Perfect which is a temporary spray for touching up roots. In this way I am managing to look reasonably presentable until I colour my hair again. Unfortunately when I colour my hair again, although I will chose a lighter colour, it will not colour all the dark hair I have been left with. This product was a total disappointment and I would advise you not to waste your money.

I never expected this product to work so well at lightning my hair why do people bleach their hair when this works. It did leave it a bit dry but easy fixed and much safer then bleach
